Sending out a mass PM?

Say one wanted to send the same PM to multiple users.  How would one go about doing so?

Is this a user level function?  Cause i just learned that a simple comma doesn't work.
How do i address this?

Edit:  If it's not possible, it'd be a cool addition..... :laugh:

I suspect it will never be allowed because it's so easily abused.

What I do is create a list of names, 1 per line, and submit the page, hit back paste the next name down and so on.

Bah.  It'd be a good feature tho.  I mean, like the entire cc or whichever fer mass emails.

just today I was thinking it would be cool if everyone at the shroomery could have there own newsletter. other members could subscribe and make there own newsletters for other members to subscribe to. This is sorta like that in a way.

I've been suggesting a CSV To: list for years.

possibly enabled only for certain users (supporters, perhaps).

there are those rare occassions when you want to send
the same message to 5 peeps...

Supporters, maybe.

We already have this functionality for admins and mods, but for obvious reasons(spam) we are very reluctant to make it available for everybody.

You could include a caveat somewhere on the send mass PM page, if it existed. Say someone had to click something to enable sending to multiple users, which would bring up some sort of bold red lettered warning along the lines of "Mis-use of PM's when sending to multiple users will result in an immediate ban" just as a deterrent to spam.

:shrug: I guess so.  Then again, everybody knows there's no smoking in restaurants in NYC but they still all have prominently displayed No Smoking signs.  Hm, I dunno.  I guess I see where the problem would arise: puppets created by non-sponsors trying to sell their goods, and sending out mass PM's.  Have you entertained the idea of making it a feature that becomes available based on certain requirements (like viewing ODD/OTD)?

maybe there could be a function where:
said person composes the pm,
selects exactly which users
they want to mass pm,
and then submits it to an admin/moderator for review.
if the admins okay the p/m he clicks the OK button,
& all the selected people will get p/m'd.

eh?

I don't think many people would like it if they knew their PMs were getting screened. It's a private message.

Exactly. Trying to safely implement this function to users seems pretty inefficient and unneeded. I was going to suggest this as a function for mods and admins but Anno said this already exists.
