Hey guys, whats up ? my first post here on the Shroomery,
hopefully the first of many more to come  hehe...
Anyways, heres my first growing project, P.E spores inoculated in BRF
using PF Tek basically, colonized for like 2.5 weeks in an improvised incubator using the fishtank heater tek
then I just moved the cakes to a big blue nylonbag from the kind you use for garbage bins, although it looks opaque it allows some light in and its blue so I guessed it will work. I put a layer of wet perlite on the bottom and just put the cakes on the perlite, I fan them with a ventilator like 5-10 times a day, and mist them with a hand sprayer like 2-3 times a day depends on how lazy I am that specific day  ...
Now, These cakes have been fruiting for like a week or so but still the shrooms are relatively small, is this related to the P.E strain
or just poor growing parameters, becuase I had to do it really stealthy and use just materials I found around the house w/o really putting a lot of $ into it.
its hard for me to tell, because im really new to this thing, do you guys think harvesting should happen soon ?

yes harvest right before or after the veil breaks mushrooms are appropriately sized for pf cakes if you want bigger think about casing them next time

Your shrooms are fine for a first timer Yeah the stems look fat and the caps small, but that ok. Harvest whenever the caps are about to open or have already opened. Make sure you get some decent caps to make some prints too. No one can really expect their shrooms to look perfect the first time.

as far as taking prints are concerned you might be SOL penis envy is notorious for not dropping spores

Looking at the picture, I think some caps have already open right ?
theyre pretty small so its hard to tell...
How many of these you think I should consume to get to a level 3-4 kind of trip ? all of them ?
BTW, I cased 2 crumbled BRF cakes seperately with a 60/40 verm/coir mix, the casing just started fruiting the other day but I think it kinda overlayed somehow and the 1st flush looks crappy, 20+ shrooms...

It looks like some have started opening. Look for a broken veil right under the cap, and you will also see gills. I can't tell you how many to eat for a level 3-4 trip. Let alone wet, which I have never done. Do wet if you want a stronger trip though, from what I have heard. Have you ever taken shrooms before? The FAQ explains these things pretty well. Yeah post a pic pf that casing

yea ive eaten shrooms before, never tried to grow them before tho.
I like the fresh mushroomy taste... adunno some ppl hate it I guess.
here are 2 pictures of my casing
it sucks ass and im dissapointed from it, though I didnt really have any expectations when I started it, you know, 1st time grow, casing, its not recommended, but I said what the heck and gave it a shot
its 60/40 verm/coir guess it kinda overlayed there in the beginning
becuase I didnt provide good air exchange and fruiting took like a week and a half to start.
i hope for better 2nd and 3rd flushes

My first grow was of P.E.'s as well, we cased them and lucked our way somehow into only getting contam mid 4th flush. Ours looked a lot fatter and bigger than those, but they are by far my favorite mushrooms.

well, the ones i grew were ridiculously strong. Everyone, seriously everyone, was getting lvl 4 trips from crap like 2 tiny aborts. I ate this shroomungus one right out the myc that was 39 grams wet and tripped for 8 amazing hours off that one, even started overheating. Even though most people here dont believe that strains vary on strength, IMO penis envies have been the most potent everytime I have eaten them. I have even seen a few websites claim this also.

Yeah...just look for the broken veils under the cap...if you wait long enough it will look like a pair of panties sliding down the stem. Then eat away....being small like they are and low in numbers, you may want to dry em and wait for another flush before you eat....you want to make sure you have anough for a level 3 or 4 trip.

That is friggin amazing...the cambos I just harvested I munched on the aborts and got almost nothing, then 1.5 grams on the first actual journey and had a Level 1....perhaps I should try the penis envy AND do the poo.

Penis envies are definitely unique and potent cubies....any ones I've had and dried out were completely solid and dark blue, about double the potency of any other cubes.

and penis envies have the best of the (my i guess) grading scale:
1-5 body high: PE's are about a 4
1-5 visuals: PE's are 5 (IMO more visual than hawaiians)
1-5 mind fuck (aka wtfness): a 6....
I would say the mind fuck and visuals i got off every (and there were many) PE trips were on the same level as some acid trips.
One time, me and 5 friends just munched a crapload of these before going to see a keller williams show. The girl that was supposed to drive only took two tiny aborts and about 20 minutes later we got in the car to drive only 10 minutes to downtown. It took us about 30 minutes to get there because everyone was tripping so hard and the chick that was driving had to keep pulling over to get her shit straight. Once we got there we were all just geeking out dumbfounded standing in line, got up to the point where we had to buy tickets and half the people freaked and said they were too fucked up go see the show, so we got in the car and carefully drove back home.
You know you are supremely fucked up if you are "too fried to see keller".

Hey dude, you gotta hear this shit..
like a couple of days ago, I opened up the fruiting chamber only to notice 2 small shrooms lying on the perlite, dont know how they got there, probably fell of the cakes somehow dunno...
anyway I said what the heck, just shoved them straight away, its a shame to waste shrooms you know
now I ate them in the morning when I woke up,
and forgot all about it thinking theyre small as shit and wont do nothing.
anyway the day went by, noonish, im at a friends house
were smoking some homegrown buds, my friend grew some green in the backyard, sensi but small buds, never mind..
anywho, after 2 bowls I get this slight body high like the coming up of acid or something, but it wasnt that strong just a vibe in the background if you know what I mean.
So now when I heard the story about the crazy chick with the aborts
I realised maybe the 2 small shrooms had some effect.. im dying to eat the mature ones already
I have another question though, I still have one P.E Jar still trying to get fully colonized, what happened is that after all my other 5 jars got fully colonized this jar just refused to finish the damn colonization and had like a 1/4 of uncolonized substrate still sitting in there doing nothing... I just said fuck it, went on with the project and left the other jar behind in my drawer to sit and think about its bad behaviour... im talking about almost three weeks that have passed already since I birthed the other cakes.
Today I went to the drawer to check out on the leftover jar, and it looked kinda like its trying to get fully colonized but still half of it is like good healty myc and the other half, or maybe 1/4 of it is just this weak, strandy myc that doesnt look good enough to me.
Im thinking about maybe brewing a tea from this cake, dicing it up and shit you know how to make tea I guess.
my question is, I know usually you can make the tea with spent cakes
and it will get you stoned as shit
but what happens if you make tea from a pretty much new cake that still has all the nutes in it ? will I get plastered as shit ?
