Print Question

hi, i'm a first time grower looking to get as much out of my first print as i can. i'm very familiar with the strategy for using syringes posted on fanaticus.com, but have no idea what the proper way to handle a spore print is.

i was given the print for free by a very generous member of this board (thank you!). it's abotu 1 inch in diameter, and kind of light, so i don't think there are a lot of spore to go around. it's puerto rican, too.

he suggested growing it on an agar plate, then going to rye grain. do i just sprinkle the spores on the plate (i hope i can find one in my chem lab)? then do i just wait for the spores to colonize, then scrape all the agar into some sort of growth medium? can i go straight from the agar into casing?

I don't know anything about the agar stuff, too new for that. But you say you understand what to do with a syringe, so you could just make a syringe or 2 from the print. There is a very easy oven tek for making syringes with a print, utilizing a shot glass. I'm pretty sure I found it under the grow/find section of this site. I made pes h syringes from a print recently (my first attempt) and they are colonizing beautifully and smelling great, so I think I did okay. No fancy equipment, either. If you have a kitchen, an empty syringe and a shot glass, you're all set!!
