I just drank 2 beers, and had a pretty decent dose of kratom. I felt all euphoric, but you know the next day I sorta felt like shit since I was up so high. I like more mild highs so the next day I am normal.

And here we have it - another example of the dangers of opiophobia. The effort of casting the classical opiates as pure evil often leads to a false dichotomy with other substances. The dangers of opiates are overstated, the dangers of other, in false compensation, understated. This is most absurd with kratom, since it is itself comprised of various opioids.
It would be wise to keep in mind Kratom contains mu receptor agonists. It is addictive. All known mu receptor agonists are dangerous when mixed with alcohol.
At the current rate, it is only a matter of time until trigger happy media outlets begin scrutinizing, in their usual paragon-of-professionality manner, the dangers of the new teenage party drug. Soon, after a celebrity overdose or two and a novelist's promotional confession of addiction, kratom will receive the same legal status worldwide as it now has in Thailand.
On the other hand, we might all try to employ a modicum of caution and perhaps awaken our somniferred instinct of self-perservation. That forementioned fate can be averted.

Oh. Short version of my post: be very, very, careful and think matters thoroughly before combining alcohol with any other depressant, specifically including kratom.

kratom is only a depressant in high doses. it's a stimulant at lower doses. and it's only mildly addictive. i can certainly say that as for my own experience as i know firsthand how addictive real opiates are in comparison to kratom. i think mixing this with alcohol would not be nearly as dangerous as mixing with opiates. of coarse caution should be taken though. anyway, if you want to talk legality, there have been threads on that subject before and everyone knows what is likely to happen and the injustice that we do not want to happen. but i do agree of coarse, caution is always necessary, but with everything.
