morning glory seeds

ok, sence i cant get shrooms right now (the guy finally got tired of me asking so he just said he couldnt get them) im going to try morning glory seeds. i dont know anything about them though. what i want to know is, on a scale of 1-10 10 being the closest how close is a morning glory trip to a shroom trip, will the morning glory have any long term affect on my body, how do i eat the seeds (do i grow them then eat them, do i just eat the seeds), what is a morning glory (flower, mushroom), how much do i take of whatever i eat, what is the trip like (how long does it last, etc), and finally, is there anything i should know about morning glory before trying it.

Honesly you can expect alot of nausea maybe vomiting and a very subtle buzz imo not worht it, but if you insist do a search of lyceaum or erowid for more info

ah screw it, ill just try someone else for shrooms. ive been looking forward to this experience for far to long to just give up and go with a shitty substitute. ill try a girl i know who lives in my neighboorhood, she might be able to get some.

Negative.. the first time I did MG seeds I got barely any nausea and had a trip comparable to a low dose shroom trip with shroom visuals (breathing walls, colors everywhere, morphing designs, patterns, etc.)

I also smoked weed while on it too, I think that helped a lot to kick it in.

note: this was on 3 packs of MG heavenly blues.

ok, so i should take 3 packs (1.5 grams each) of heavenly blue morning glory seeds to get a pretty cool trip. what if i take 4 packs.

i've never done any less than 5 packs of 1.8 grams each. basically the more you eat, the stronger the trip, but the worse the nauseau, and at higher doses you can get leg cramps. you pretty much gotta do it a few times and figure out what dose you like best, ie how high of a dose you can take before the nauseau and leg cramps get to you too much to not enjoy the trip. i'm not going to recomment a dose because i haven't experimented with them that much. i would say no less than 3 packs of 1.8 grams per pack, but you don't want to do more than 5 packs.

take some ginger before you eat the seeds and the nauseau won't really be bad at all. crush the seeds up into a powder and put them in either food or a drink. they take around 2 hours to kick in for me. as for how similar they are to a shroom trip on a scale of 1 to 10, i'd say 7.5. they last longer, there seems to be less of a mindfuck for first timers. they're definitely better than you would probably expect for something you can buy at home depot.

:kodama:I am glad to see that you are asking a lot of relevant questions before you jump into this thing blindly!  On a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate a MG trip as a 6 or 7 in relationship to that of a mushroom trip.  The main active chemical compound in MG seeds (the Morning Glory is a flower) is Lysergic Acid Amide (LSA).  LSA is closely related to Lysergic Acid Diethelamide (LSD).  Thus, the experience is more closely related to that of acid than that of mushrooms.

There are no long term effects under sane doses and the length of the trip can last from 6 to 12 hours with a long coming up and a short term peak followed by a long coming down.  Mushies, on the other hand, are marked with a relatively quick coming up (about an hour) and a long, steady peak (from 3 to 5 hours) followed by a rapid recovery.  All in all, I prefer the mushroom trip to that of the MG seeds because of the shorter duration and the longer peak.

Dosage is something to take with a bit of caution but I would say that for a first timer who is not an experienced tripper with other substances should limit the initial dosage to something under 6 grams or so (that's about 200 seeds)  I took twice that on my first trip but i had a very good idea what to expect from spending countless hours researching the subject.

You can ingest the seeds in many different ways: eat them one at a time, chew ten or so at once, grind them up into a powder and mix them with a juice and chug the mix, etc.  Probably the best way is to do an extraction (see Erowid's site for a very detailed and simple two part extraction that leaves you with very clean LSA in an alcohol base).  Eating the seeds usually causes nausea and vomiting (tossing your cookies only once or twice) with an almost instant feeling of relief and experienced MG users welcome this ritual puking as it seems to bring on the trip at a greater intensity (just like with peyote cactus users).  I used Dramamine to ward off the nausea and it worked... but not throwing up the depleted seed mush led to another form of purging later on toward the end of the trip with uncomfortable results (read my trip report in the forum The Ethnobotanical Garden here at The Shroomery).

MG seeds can produce very weird and yet very pleasant trips if you are prepared properly (setting, health, state of mind) as any other psychoactive hallucinogen.  Read up on them hare and at Erowid.

thanks guys. well, its getting close to ingestion time. this will be my first experience with drugs (i did try some weed but it didnt do anything for me) so ill take it easy. as for the pukeing, ill keep a trashcan close by for when it happens, ill be taking 4 packs of 50 seeds each (1.5 grams per pack) i havnt done that much reading up on morning glory but i have with shrooms and sence this is a less intense trip i think ill be ok. plus the responses ive gotten have informed me pretty well. ill just remember to be quiet, go with the flow, and enjoy myself. if you have any last minute advice now is the time to post because im taking them as soon as i crush them and put them in somthing.

ok, so im going to take the seeds (50 of the 200 crushed all put in a little bit of sobe) at 11:00 (10 minutes) and im just gonna chill out and play guitar while im coming up. ive got a trash can for when i get sick if i get sick (if i do get sick im gonna make myself through up so i feel better) im a tiny bit nervous but thats going away. ill write a trip report and let you know how it went. thanks again for all the advice.

Ride out the nausea, it WILL pass with time, and is to a great degree, only in your mind.

While you come up, review: The Psychedelic Experience by Timothy Leary

I know there's a section on nausea in there, as well as handy trip tips!

If you can withstand nausea on LSA, you'll be fine with shrooms or lsd.

But if you must toss your cookies, aim well. :smile:

I've done Morning Glory seeds twice now. First time was 7.5 grams and absolutely no visuals. Second time was 5.4 grams with absolutely no visuals also. Second time I puked accidently, first time I made myself. Maybe I just need more?

all i know is i took them 41 minutes ago and im allready starting to feel, different. i took one today to sort of test it out and just one seed made me really happy and carefree. oh and right now the edges of my eyes are flashing, all i know is im in for one awesome night.
