Does anyone know of any programs like similar to garage band, where I can compile recorded tracks with beats and make songs. Preferably something freeware? 5 shroom rating for the first person to find me a freeware program like that.

good luck with freeware....

Got Soulseek?

FruityLoops, CoolEditPro, or Soundforge would do the trick.

cakewalk is a good one too. fruityloops has a lot more sounds than cakewalk if you are planning on using midi. if you want to chop samples i'd suggest cakewalk. you can record on multiple tracks and chop samples and all kinds of good shit.

i took a class at school to learn cakewalk...these programs are difficult to get the hang of at first, especially if you don't have instruction.  so know that before you shoot your monitor w/ a shotgun.

Acid. Its not free tho. Its based on loops and easy to get the hang of.

I had fun a few years back making songs with it.
