I used Buzz for the longest time, and like most buzz users I got caught up in the anti-fruity movement. I started using FruityLoops a couple of months ago and I'm glad I did. Buzz really may be more powerfull all around giving you control over everything, but fruity is easy to use and fun... it puts a little light back in the experience

So now I use them both... they are both awesome programs

I use fruityloops, never tried buzz. After about 2 years with the program my songs are sounding how I always imagined they could. It's great if you take the time to learn it, it's pretty easy!

have you at least played with any of the buzz machines in fruity using the buzz adapter? there are some really good generators and effects you can get at buzzmachines.com, and the version of fruity that i got came with a couple too.

if you haven't checked them out yet you really should...

Nope...
Are they easy your processor and RAM?  I'm don't use many VST plugins or generators in fruity because they take up too much of my RAM and CPU (i'm on a p2 350  :frown: with over 190mb of ram, windows only reads 190 of it...).  i suppose i'll just play around with Buzz generators in an empty track and export any loops if I make some.

i think they are easier on the processor, it probably depends on which one you use. and there is no graphic interface on them, only sliders... just a good simple sound generator. i have a 200mhz and they don't give me any problems, i think they even run smoother for me than the 3xosc.

I recorded a lot of stuff by mixing FruityLoops with Rebirth!! They are totaly compatable with each other- I highly recommend trying them BOTH at the same time!

after a night of experimenting with fruity loops, i did find everything to be a lot easier on the eyes to manipulate and make music. but... buzz is so much more customizable it seems... i like being able to see each machine, and it's route thru the effects, and i've really gotten used to the patterns and sequencing. fruity loops is nice tho, maybe i'll use that to make fruity ..loops and put em in buzz.
any other software you guys recommend?
Anyone used Propellerheads Reason?

ohhh and also, i got a question about buzz... how the hell do i export a buzz song as wav? or anything? i know there's a way... like connecting everything to a wav machine, right?

Yep, I use Reason 2 though, I love it, that and Cubase since it supports VST plugins.

Call me lazy, but after using fruityloops, trackers seemed like total nonsense to me =/
I tried MadTracker 2.0 (i think) and couldn't get any sound out of it, let alone sequence anything. Maybe I'm mising the point all together? Are they more for people with external equipment?

I've used fruityloops for years, go here to see the kind of stuff I use it for. With the latest versions, I also use it to sync all mi MIDI gear. I also use sound forge for editing my samples.

Thank you very much kind sir! Thats actually a work in progress, something I'm writing for and too my Girlfriend. I'm planning on laying some spoken word-type poetry of mine over it. I usually dont put my stuff out there too much but I recently got an offer from some local record lable to possibly relese some of my work to the public, which I really dont think I'm ready for... but thanks for the feedback just the same man.
