Intentions

Leary and a lot of others recommend having one or more intentions before tripping. What are some of yours?

Actually now that I think about it, the four that Leary suggests:

1. Increased personal power, intellectual understanding, sharpened insight into self and culture, improvement of life situation, accelerated learning, pofessional growth.

2. Duty, help of others, providing care, rehabilitation, rebirth for fellow men.

3. Fun, sensuous enjoyment, esthetic pleasure, interpersonal closeness, pure experience.

4. Trancendence, liberation from ego and space-time limits; attainment of mystical union.

Really seem to encompass just about all intentions, but can you think of any others?

I would say for me it's usually a mixture of 1 and 3 ^ and the desire to explore.

1, 3, and 4 are usually what I go for. I can't really think of anymore, those pretty much sum it all up.

i go into a psychedelic journey with the intent to explore myself and my surroundings.

more often than not one or two of the "intentions" you listed always begin to unfurl itself before me... i let the mushrooms/catalyst do the walking.

Nah, I tripped two days ago, so it'll be at least another month or so for me.

tadpole: the desire to explore can be really cool sometimes. It can be quite the experience to take a dose, and then imagine you've just entered a new dimension, or act like you're in a giant virtual reality video game.
