Just got home from work and i was in a new housing track so i decided to check the landsacping bark at 1 house. I got a little low and there they were, everywhere. Some were bigger then the biggest ones shown but they were dry. There are about 400 more houses with the same bark so i am going to try to find a way to look through all of them. Questions, How should i clean them, how should i prepar them, and how do i check for edibility. I do not see any bugs and they are fresh.
Printing the 2 biggest ones

yes they are, but why print them? cultivation is near impossible.

clean them? I too dont like chewing those little crunchies of dirt that make u cringe like someone just ran their fingers across a chalkboard. just put them in a bucket of water and shake them around, dont leave them in the bucket longer than like 20 seconds. then dry immediately!

"i know culti is hard" it's impossible in a way. You can only really just spread the spores outside and hope they grow.

I heard somewhere that morel mycelium will only produce fruits only once every 5 years. I also heard that they only grew in areas were there was a fire a year before...
They are elusive and I dont think they;ve ever been cultivated. Yet, when you see the big dried bunches at the store, it makes me wonder...

They've been cultivated. There are two patents for the commercial production of morels. The turnover rate can be as fast as a few months, at least that is the fastest I've heard of. The original guy who came up with the technique to cultivate them died before the patents were put to use. I believe the business that has the rights to the patent went out of business, something about cultivated morels tasting like dirt.

morels can be cultivated indoors. You grow them on grass seed, then they form sclerotia, then you pick out the stones and case the stones. They grow too bad neiter shroom left a print
