One of my friends spent about a week in the hospital and didn't recognize his family until just recently due to daturas negative amnesia effect. Personaly i've had few bad experiences with this flower, but it varies from person to person, and is a very dangerous substance. scopolamine (one of the active chemicals) should not be used as anything recreational. Morning glories contain LSA, a chemical 1/10th as potent as LSD. This is a way different substance, is consumed in way different ways, and even though similar to datura in a few characteristics, is nothing like it.
Stay safe and study more,

SoD

I have exstensive experience with this plant. It's a datura relative with the same active chemicals. Tree datura.

http://www.erowid.org/plants/brugmansia/brugmansia.shtml

I do not suggest inggesting it in any way. It's not a toy. It's not fun. I'm not going to go on about it here. If you want to know anything about it or it's effects pm me.

Its still very popular i assume. It causes blindness with repeated small doses. Check out the other threads here. If i was to use it i only ingest a seed or two. As my buddy said it makes you feel anciant. Or i might smoke a pinch of leaf.
I wouldnt partake in a teaspoon of seed though. Thats not my cup of tea.

I have never heard this information it causes you to go blind. This seems like total bs, but that is just me. Wiccan Seeker has had some experiences, a mod here. Actually he has this one thread that gives a historical backdrop on the datura and acient + modern culture. It should be here in the ethno botanical forum actually since I had just posted on it yesterday.

Its said to cause problems with eye sight and can make you temporarily blind for a few days after a strong dose. Im not so sure abut complete permanent blindless.

It does not cause blindness. It does take away your ability to focus on things. It effects the near sight most, but at high enough doses it gets all of your vision. You can see, you just cant focus on anything, so while your field of vision is there, anything you try to look at is a blur and seems to move around alot.

This all goes away after a couple days though. It's not permanent.

It's not really a big issue while you are tripping, either, because you are not so much with your body. you are aware of it and can use it if you want, but for the most part you are somewhere else, and bodily functions, even sight, are not much of a concern. It does suck that you can't focus on anything when you are comeing back and comeing down, but after a couple days you see fine.

The last time I witnessed a friend using Datura, they ended up hospitalized on their vacation. It isn't a toy and I have never had a friend say it was fun. I would avoid it completely.
