Orange dots on my Popcorn?

I have some qt. popcorn just that i just mixed up 3:1 with water and PC'd no simmer or soak. They look pretty good, except im seeing some kind of orange dots on some of the kernals. It's in all 4 jars, and it kind of looks like tiny orange salt crystals. It doesn't really look like a contam, but i was just wondering what it could be. I have myc. growth in all 4 too.

I find that after PCing popcorn gets a little cooked looking. The kernels have a darker orange/brown colour. Could this be what you are talking about?

It may actually be sugar crystalizing...

The way i do popcorn is:

1. PC desired amount of popcorn for 45 min at 15psi.
2. Rinse and let drip dry (Usually like 2 hours).
3. Load into jars, PC for 90 min at 15psi.

Perfect water content every single time. No contams.

the kernals are a bit darker with a kind of gold/orange tint. But all around the jars various kernals have specs of orangish pinkish on them. They actually stick up from the kernal. They're so small only a really high definition camera could even show them.

It's real strange if its mold. It doesn't seem to grow or anything. All dots are the same size, and don't get bigger. Does anyone know of a mold like im discribing?

If the jars continue to colonize im going to leave them, because im just spawning them to an outdoor bed, so they should be fine. As long as they fully colonize.

take a pic. ive done popcorn once, and i had orange looking dots on the side of the glass.

I dont have a digital camera that is good enough to show the specs of orange.

Just out of curiosity, did you get the popcorn from one of those microwaveable popcorn bags? Was the popcorn raw and unsalted?

It was raw and unsalted. I got it at wal-mart for cheap.
