I'm trying Absinthe for the first time this weekend. It's always been something that I've kinda been interested in, so I'm gonna find out what it's all about.

real absinth that is brewed with wormwood or just high-proof alcohol with an anise taste that they call absinth?

there is a hell of a lot more of the later, esp. across the north american continent.

It's brewed with the wormwood. I wouldn't want to try the other that you mentioned. I have seen that around a lot as well.

nothing particularly wrong with the latter, just no wormwood, so none of the "absinth" feel to it - you just get very drunk.

now some nice, homemade absinth - that shit's a bit crazy. certainly nothing on par with LSD or what have you, but interesting in its own regard

Yeah, but if it has none of the absinthe feel to it then why bother drinking it....you can just drink any old kind of alcohol.

Yeah, if I enjoy the experience I am thinking of possibly doing a home brew absinthe.

wormwood was an incredible experience to me.  its a very sociable drug.  very mind openeing, but in a completly different sense then a spychedelic.  mind flowing would be more accurate.

and if you drink to much the alcohol overpowers the thujone, so keep it to only a few shots :heart:  youll enjoy it more.
