I leave for the airport to go to Coachella at 5:15 PM EST, and I have a paper due at 5 PM EST. It is now 11:30 AM. Wish me luck on writing 7 pages..luckily, it's just writing about a mix I made of songs by British bands recorded post 9/11 that I think sum up the mindset of people outside my country looking in. Here's the tracklist
1. Morrissey - America Is Not the World 2. Bloc Party - Price of Gas 3. Muse - Time is Running Out 4. Augie March - This Train Will Be Taking No Passengers (such an amazing song) 5. Radiohead - I Will (No Man's Land) 6. Elbow - Fugitive Motel 7. Beta Band - Eclipse 8. Blur - We've Got a File On You 9. Coldplay - A Rush of Blood to the Head 10. British Sea Power - Childhood Memories 11. The Stands - When This River Rolls Over You 12. David Bowie - Bring Me the Disco King

Yeah, it's my final project for a class and the teacher's cool so I'm writing about myself, essentially. 9/11 happened 2 weeks after I moved into my freshman dorm, and I saw one of the towers collapse. And now I'm graduating. So I'm writing about that, and comparing my view of it with an outside view, that of British musicians. He's cool enough that I can write a sentence like "I spent the next week walking the emptied streets of New York, stoned immaculate, highly perplexed, strangely vacant" and he'll love it.

He'll only love it if you use proper sentance structure.

Meh, grammar can be substituted with poetic license. When all your sentences eschew grammar in the same stylistic way, you can get away with being ungrammatical.

Me likes you're sentence. You wrotes good.
Seriously though, that's a nice sentence. Maybe a little semi-colon action will look good. (I'm not an English major, however)
I spent the next week walking the emptied streets of New York; stoned immaculate, highly perplexed, strangely vacant.
That's how I felt, standing on the beach watching smoke lofting high above the skyline.

Such a strange day.
I had no emotion, just...awe.

Yup. No one knew what to think, really. A crowd of us just stood on the jetty, in silence. It was scary, knowing lots of my friends whose parents work in NYC, some in the WTC. Luckily, my one friend's dad (he worked on one of the top floors) called in sick that day.
My nieghbor made it down in time from the forty-something floor. He is real quiet bout it, still talks about the sounds of the firemen running up while they were running down.

I always need distractions while I write papers. I'm churning it out nice and quick anyway.

good job, I need distractions as well, usually something to smoke and music do the job, though.
