Sadly, I don't either. In addition to reducing petrol demand, the obesity problem would probably go away as well (or at least be greatly reduced). I've thought for a long time that just maybe these high gas prices aren't such a bad thing if more would walk or bicycle where they need to go. Of course, I'm kinda guilty too, but I'm changing my habits. I live in a small town anyway, so most places I need to go are within a 1/2 mile radius from my apartment...

while i do believe the gouging of the american people through the price of oil is directly tied to the corrupt coporate whores we have elected for a second term, haliburton has nothing to do with oil prices. haliburton is taking money from you, not thorugh gas prices.  your taxes are paying haliburton, they making money hand over fist with no bid contracts. they are over charging the US which is convieniently over looked by the people in charge. its just another way to funnel tax money into the pockets of george w.  what's funny is america is blind. they let republicans get away wih murder just because they all of the sudden love jesus. of course no noe who loves jesus could do wrong, right?? i mean no one in history has ever used religion or blind idealolgy to lead  the masses into fucking themselves..... but america's sheep give these criminals a pass. the republican party is the epitome of hipocracy. old school conservatives used to stand for less government and now they want to extend government control of speech to things you pay for, they are even suggesting jail time as a penalty for breaking indecency laws. jail time in america, for fucking speech, and what you dont know is that the definenition of indecency isnt defined anywhere, its up to the discretion of an unelected body (the fcc). they refuse to define the rules because without fear of being fined or having liscenses revoked they couldnt bulyl coporations into compliance. republicans are fucking trying to look into people's bedrooms, so concerned with who you're banging or who you marry. look at what those worthless snakes did with terry schiavo, days before in congress they are trying to cut medicare. then they come out, suddenly concered about keeping a braindead vegatable alive to appeal to their brainless zombie like religous base. even though they fail to mention schavo is being kept alive with medicare. they are a party who values life, but want to take welfare away from the poor and could give a fuck about people dying without healthcare. but have no fear, the fucking rubes in this country will elect jeb bush in '08 and we'll continure to see war and pseudo-colonialism. this is how the roman empire fell, history always repeats itself, they conquered too many people, created too many enemies, stretched their army too thin and they fell. just wait till president george w bush IIV disolves the senate in 2020 and declares himself emporer :tongue:

Whoever quoted that anti-flag song is a flamer. That band is rediculus. That song 10 easy steps to create an enemy and start a war is assonine. This band put out a song called 9-11 for peace right after 9-11 discouraging millitary action. Don't get me wrong. I love peace, but there is not a shadow of doubt in my mind that if over 3,000 innocent American citezens die in an ambush attack on American soil, millitary action needs to be taken. These factions stand against the American way of life, and we're just going to be peacefull and let ourselves get run over? Bullshit. We need to find the people who planned and carried this attack out and bring them to justice to aid the healing process of the nation and to help insure our safety. Anti-flag doesn't stand for shit. They're a bunch of hypocrits. They claim to be socialists, yet they perform major capitalist rock festivals like the Van's Warped tour. Justin Sane can suck my penis.

Like it's already been said a grip of times, Dick Cheney doesn't have shit to do with the America's source of oil, OPEC (Oil Producking and exporting countries) By the way, OPEC is considered a cartel in economic terms.

Hey kronny, read through this page, www.peakoil.org , and some of the links. Gas prices are rising because we are nearing, or past, the point at which crude is its cheapest to extract from the earth. Prices for mining oil have been rising since about 2000, and the amount of oil left to be easily mined is only enough to last about 50 years, and thats at today's usage.
So, its not Cheney's fault or Bush's fault. It's not even OPEC's fault. Its the whole western world's fault for capitilizing on a cheap source of energy without thinking about the future.

But I suppose I'm just a conservative that is presenting loads of information compiled for years just to cover up the current government's laundering of assets from crude oil profits. Right?
