Are you like your parents?

Man... I've realized in such a subtle way that I am so much like my Dad. It's amazing. I should ask him more about his youth and teenage years. He would've been 19 in 1969, primetime for the psychadelic era. I know my Mom was a big pothead, haha. My Dad smoked, but not hardcore.
I highly doubt they would ever admit to doing any drugs other than pot.
Hah, when I was younger I was so paranoid and afraid of my parents finding out I smoke pot... now it's cool because my whole family smokes weed. Hahaha... how things turn out.

I am very much like my parents in that way, my whole family smokes still. The only difference is my mom hated psycadellics as a teen and I love them.

My wife tells me all the time how much I am like my father. He remained highly religious his whole life whereas I turned away from my religious upbringing. But other than that we definately have the same personality traits. We are both very laid-back people and we both have the same warped sense of humor. And I often catch myself sounding just like him at times.
And IMO, I could think of no one I would rather emulate! He is a great man!

Yeah, I look and act very similar to my dad. However, my dad is more of a blue-collar guy than me. He's done pretty much everything for himself, from building our house, to fixing our cars to pretty much anything else hands-on. We're different in that sense since I'm more of a science geek. He's also a real fan of the outdoors so I'm similar in that sense (both of my parents are like that actually).
I don't understand it... my dad can take apart a car and put it back together yet he has trouble with the most basic computer problems. I think it's more of a psychological thing, he has it stuck in his head that they're complicated despite the fact that they're designed for idiots
I was around my mom a lot when I was little and was similar to her, very optimistic. Then I grew up and realized how fucked up the world is and I've turned out nothing like her. My dad is more of a realist and my spiritual beliefs are right on par with his... my Mom still tries telling me stuff about Jesus and "God doesn't give you more than you can handle" and I think most of that's just bullshit.

I am quite similar to my dad. My dad was a big time hippy in the day. I found a old belt of his with a pot leaf buckler when i was helping them move . My dad is someone who i admire and want to be like when i grow up(the rest of the way hehe im 22).

I'm a combination of my grandfather (morals), my uncle (drug use, open mindedness), and both my parents were hippies in the day.
My father denies using psychedelics, and said if he did he was real young (translation: he's done them). But, he moved to this house when he was ~35 and the neighbor has a story about them tripping and how they drove into a young tree and it made it grow slanted..
My uncle, mother, and father came to this conclusion after a session. Never thought I'd smoke with my parents.
edit: There was also the time they were driving around in the neighbor's daughter's car, wearing hard hats, blasting Black Sabbath in the backyard.

Most young people (under 25) wont notice their parents in them. (they dont want to admit being ANYTHING like their parents)
I have a lot of ALL my parents personality (Dad, Mom, Step-Dad and one of my Uncles).....but I didnt realize it until I was in my mid to late 20's.
If you are around a person alot while your growing up you will "copy" some of their traits.
I hated my Step-Dad....but I have some of his personality traits, because I had to be around him alot.
I worked in my Uncles body-shop in my teens and picked up some of his traits too.
Kids are like sponges.....they soak up whatever they are exposed to.

i am probably the polar opposite of my dad. i reject everything he believes, and he rejects everything i believe in. i would give anything to be able to sit down and smoke a bowl with my parents, provided their minds had been previously unlocked or in the process.
