pot tolerance
    #4017347 -

does anyone know if tolerance can reach 0 again?

ive been a reasonably heavy smoker, pretty much everyday for a few years now. i havent smoked for three weeks, and i wonder... how much longer should i go? its a breeze not smoking, and i could keep going forever. but im excited to enjoy it again, as the effects have been practically nonexistant... or unpleasant, for some time now.

how long does it take tolerance to fade... an average please.

my buddy has been somking heavily for a few years as well and recently got arrested n was forced to quit for drug testing, it took him 3 months to test negative, so i figure once its all out of your system your tolerance is done.

i don't know how long it takes for ur tolerance to go back to how it was the first time you smoked, but i know it goes down reeeaaal fast. after 3 weeks of not smokin ur gonna get fuckin BLAZED off of a tiny amount of weed next time. i used to smoke 2-3 times a day and just cutting back to 1 time a day i already felt my memory getting better and i was less "out of it" all the time. now i only smoke once a week or so, and my lungs are so VIRGIN now!

They say it takes 28 days for a chronic smoker to return to the same level as a "non-smoker".

yea, 3 days wont do much. You need to go at least a few weeks or so to get any real effect.

Your liver which is responsible for taking all the junk you put out again produces enzymes to metabolize these substances. If you've develpode a tolerrance its in part due to the livers expectation of more THC in the future and a higher enzyme making capacity. If you stop for a month or more you will deffinitely notice that you get higher for longer should you start again ( for a while at least). I stopped for grad school and at the end of the semester toked up on J of some Silverhaze like I used to back in the day. IT was like a mushroom level trip, it wasnt even fun. mY brain was so shocked. My life felt so short and pointless. I was like im done with wheed. But the next few days I was back to normal enjoying the stone. Looks like the liver came back up to speed.

I find that 2-3 weeks takes me right back to where I need to be if I've been over-doing it.

If you go more than a month I think your tolerance will have dropped as much as it can. I have noticed a difference between quitting for three weeks and quitting for five weeks.

In any case, no period of abstinence will make it feel like the first time, not because of tolerance, but just because you know what to expect from the drug.

But yeah, I think a month to six weeks will bring you to "zero," physiologically anyway.

Sometimes it can take several months for a heavy, and I mean heavy, smoker to clear up. I would be for sure at the three month mark.

Otherwise a month should do you. Hell, I can tell a decrease in tolerance in just a single day, if I don't smoke for the whole day and then get stoned at night. Then again, I smoke alot. Anyone ever tried lecithan, a dietary supplement, take some of that and see if you get higher. I would say it works, but it is really debated on Overgrow. I get higher, longer and IME it totally works. Give it a try. Also heard it can be mixed in with brownies to make them super potent.
