calling amsterdam

ok so on april 24th i'm going on vacation to my home country, ecuador... and i'm flying with klm, as always... ain't nobody wanna mess with them or kidnap their planes or shit... besides, they had the best price...
originally i would have left from stuttgart for amsterdam at 18:10... gotten there at 19:35 and well i would have had to wait in amsterdam about 3 hours for the flight to ecuador which leaves at 23:00... now 3 hours is a time-span that i can kill at the airport no problem...
but well... today the travel agency called and said the flight from stuttgart to amsterdam was moved... i leave for amsterdam same day but at 15:55 now... so that i'll have 5-6 hours to kill in amsterdam... and i'm gonna get BORED as hell in that airport... prolly gonna smoke a whole pack o' cigs in that time...
now my question is... how far is the airport from the city... how fast can i get to the city by train from the airport? how fast can i be back? would it even be worth it to leave the airport?
and the next question is: would any of you guys be willing to meet up with me in the city? or maybe even come up to the airport if it turns out that leaving it is not an option?

its about a thirty to forty minute train ride from the airport to the main train station or so...perhaps slightly more...
but best to take the word of someone who lives there over mine....

Yes, if you have 5 or 6 hours, then going to the city should be no problem. As the previous poster said, a train ride to the city takes about 30 minutes.

If you aim for a certain good coffeeshop, you can definitely make it there, smoke a lot, eat a hash brownie, drink a hash milkshake, smoke a bunch more, and then make it back to the airport no worries. You should try to get to Abraxis, that's a sweet spot.

I looked it up, it's only 14-19 minuted depending wich train you get.
make sure you don;t get too stoned to get the train back :wink:

I ate a brownie so fucking strong right before I left the first time I went to Amsterdam and essentially had a trip on cannabis on the train all the way back to Paris.

hehehehe... the getting stoned part won't be a problem, i have been "clean" for 3 and a half years... although i smoked on new years and i had fun, i don't intend to start smoking again... i tend to get overly panicky (after my dxm nightmare) so i can't really enjoy it... although the idea of being baked and having a window seat sounds pretty sweet...
but well stefan you up for meeting me in amsterdam or are you too far away?

it's one and a half hour by train so it's kinda far for a short meetup.
