What kind of Portable speaker(s) should i get for my Ipod?

Alright... I'm about to buy a 40gig ipod, but I dunno which speaker system I should get. I want one that can run on batteries so I can take it with me to places where there are no electrical outlets.

I'm thinking about getting the "On Stage" model, or the "Altec Lansing inMotion"
I dunno.. I kinda like the Lansing 'cause you can project sound in whatever direction you want to by facing it that direction. "On Stage" is round, so it projects in all directions.

I need some advice!

40gb's have been discontinued btw, so you should get a 30gb photo.

Why are the discontinued? Are you sure about this, 'cause I just bought a 4th generation 40 gig.

I don't need to look at photos on my Ipod, thats what I have my Sony T1 for.

ipod photo sucks.
over priced, has no video playback, and poor color resolution

...as compared to something like the iriver h340 which I own and recommend.

ipods suck in general, that is if you're not a sorority girl.
