i was wondering how big the yields of hongus' vermiculite tek are, and over all how well this tek works. is it very good to use? is it the best simple tek there is? im using 4 cubensis matias romero 1 pint cakes in each container. is that a good number or too many cakes?
God Bless America

the yeild all depends on the grower..but go for it dude..its better than growing out cakes..you get more surface area to grow with..

well, im not sure exactly, in a previous attempt, at base we got a HUGE harvest.... for a first flush we were drying them for days (small drying facilities at the time), and by the time they were done, two more flushes were waiting for drying too... 8-) it is not really a tek, but more like a recollection of what we used to do in the alleys. the only thing i will recommend will be that try what you can do to get coco fiber and skip the incubation period... coco fiber is AMAZING stuff.... try to make a substrate layer that is about 2" deep (or three) and case that with the coir.... beautiful. see ya. peace & happiness ~h

Coco-fibre! Coco-fibre! Rah Rah Rah! - gotta love that stuff. I 've got a sliced PF cake which I cased with verm. Painfully slow and uneven progress with the mycelium. I scraped it yesterday and recased with coir. Lifted back the foil this morning and it's totally and evenly colonised. Amazing.

take a look at my link- its not the same, and theyre not written by the same person. hongus' isnt really a tek, just an illustrated guide to casing. but the link i provided has much mre info, and has pictures- while the link here at the shroomery is much simpler. heres a direct link, http://www.mycotopia.net/teks/hongus.html
