medical examination gloves, ok?

Are they ok for wearing when crumbling substrate during preparation of casing? They are coated with a bit of cornstarch i believe, but otherwise i assume they are sterile and better than bare fingers. Opinions?

Farmer- Yes, I have used them before, and since they are sterile, it causes no problems - I will also say that I no longer use gloves.

Seconds before I case, I spray all of my jars with lysol- let it seet, to kill any baddies lurking on the outsides of jar( Of course, I am sure the Lysol does not come into contact with cake) - Then I swab my fingers with alcohol, and let them dry off- After that I just work quickly, but carefull, and crumble the cakes by hands, au natural - never had a contam problem yet- but again, use caution, and the method that works best for you- Good luck

Colonized mycellium is relatively prone to contamination, it is usually the casing mixture that turns out to contaminate!
