When the big companies pc, do they use something to cover their patches?
I know that it's not great to sit your tyvek in water, but would it be okay to do a brf sub. in one and then steam sterilyze/boil w/o the patch touching the water?

I think it would be better if you sterilized it in a pc, but steaming it MIGHT work.

Commercial mushroom farms use a large autoclave and the bags are nowhere near the water. So I don't think its really an issue.

But, I would keep the patch away from the water.

good luck

Yeah thanks, I also figure if your using a tyvek patch since it is water proof youd be fine. Doess the steam have to permeate the substarte for sterilization or can you seal that bag up.

It would be like a big pf cake in a bag, so I guess it would work off the same principle.
