What is fake acid?

Iv'e heard a lot about how acid isnt how it used to be back in the 60's and whatnot, and I've heard a lot about how most acid being sold today is "fake LSD". But what kind of chemical compares to LSD that has such similar effects and still lasts 12 hours? Maybe i've heard wrong, just wondering.

Most of the acid being sold today is genuine LSD. Fake acid, or bunk hits are usually plain paper, gel tabs or liquid with no LSD, and no other active chem. in them. The RC 5 Me0-AMT was sold as acid in liquid form and reportedly on some blotters....but the effects are very different, and it's no longer something to worry about. RCs are pretty much off the market, if not entirely off the market. The RC bust as well as the end of the end of the LSD drought has ensured this. You're not eligible for ODD yet, but once you are there is a thread about the doses in circulation.

or blanks......but the 5 Me0-AMT is rare......there is a shitload of really good LSD going around, and much more to come. Keep your eyes peeled, and don't let the fear of getting ripped off stop ya from trying because LSD is beautiful stuff!  :grin: :tripping: :weirdeyes:

Yes, it was that 5 Me0-AMT that i heard of a while ago, I just wasnt sure exactly what it was. I am glad that the end of the acid drought is upon us. Thanks for your help.

i've bought fake acid before. i think it was just blotter with no acid. very dissapointing. there aren't many chemicals that are psychoactive enough to fit an above threshold dose on a tab.

sorry - this is bullshit. Most of the blotters around now days have much higher dosages than were ever available via blotters in the 60s (the average dosage then was 50-100mcgs) - whereas nowdays most quality acid is around 100-200 mcgs.
Bad acid is the result of bad purity - the purity is always the issue - a good an experienced chemist makes good acid, a bad chemist (and there have been too manysince 2001) produce dirty acid that sorta works, but doesnt have the same 'kick'

Yeah..they say most hits back in the day were 200ug+. A truely psychedelic dose per hit. Today you normally have to take a couple to really get going.

we have GREAT acid here in MS...

just like what they used in the 60's

how i know this is one of my friends uncle was a hippy in the 60's and STILL a hippie. he gets fucked up with us all the time

i had some strips 2 weeks ago that said was on the scale of the shit they used to get back then but there was ALOT more of it back then

it was the cleanest acid i have ever had.... and more visuals than body high. was great.

i watched some vines and hummingbird wallpaper roll and swirl for about 45 mins straight. was the coolest shit i have ever seen.

Maybe the cleanliness was on par, but not the potency....In the US, blotter is laid to 100 mics of crystal, the purity determining the actual amount of LSD on each hit. For example, if it's fluff than it's 95ugs, silver 85-90ugs. http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat...e=3&fpart=1

Speaking of fake acid . . . a friend of mine I met last year in nebraska had said he didn't like acid b/c his buddy had a really bad trip after taking a sweet tart with acid on it. well, that seemed shady to me from the get go. later, i was reading an issue of reason and it mentioned this microgram bulletin that the dea publishes. long story short check this out . . . Warning: its a government site, the dea no less. so look out, they're watching. what with their echelon projects and what have you.

5-METHOXY-ALPHA-METHYLTRYTAMINE IN LINCOLN, NEBRASKA

The DEA North Central Laboratory (Chicago, Illinois) recently received 18 stained "SweeTart"? candies, suspected to contain lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD) (see Photo 4). The exhibits were seized pursuant to a traffic stop in Lincoln, Nebraska by the Nebraska State Patrol (18 of 36 candies submitted for analysis). Each candy was visibly stained on both the top and bottom surfaces. A cross section one of the candies demonstrated staining though the middle of the tablet, however, it was not possible to determine if the applied solution had soaked through the candy, or if the solution had been applied to both faces. The stained areas were more easily viewed with an ultraviolet light source (e.g., see Photo 5). Some of the candies fluoresced more intensely than others, suggesting that the drug strength varied significantly from tablet to tablet (ultraviolet light at 495 nanometers and an orange #56 filter exhibited the most contrast for photography). Analysis of the tablets (total net mass of 18 candies 30.3 grams) by GC/MS and UV/Vis identified not LSD but rather 5-methoxy-alpha-methyltryptamine (5-MeO-AMT) (not quantitated). This was the first seizure of this type submitted to the laboratory.

Everyone is saying acid is back, but I still have yet to run into. I go to raves, too, still nothing. On the West coast, if that matters (I would think Cali would have something)
