natural rhythm video by coldcut/hextatic. 1996.

I have shared this with a few of you here. I uploaded it for someone else and thought I'd share the link.

I think this video shows the potential of electronic music to go far beyond boring beats and the same old dance cliches.

its just a hip hop song. while its a cool song, i admit, theres nothing groundbreaking or original about samples and snare rushes.

nice video though.

you're stuck on the duality, then.
audio/video synchronization is the point.

it's not about the music
it' not about the video.
it's about how they connect.

its a cool video...  but im willing to bet the song was made before the video.  it connects because someone had the creative thought to connect it, like anything else.  and for early nineties, thats a pretty avant garde electronic song. 

and you said that the video shows the potential for electronic music to go beyond repetition and cliche...  i just dont see that right now.  it is still  looped ambiant noise with looped bass and looped drum beats with looped samples.  YES the video and song connect, and it does a great job of that.  YES now that i know its from the early nineties it is not your traditional dance song (though hip hop was doing similar things with a different sound at the same time).  either way i think its cool.  it sure looks like the people had fun making it.

and yes, todcasil is a dirty terrorist :blush:
