Im thinking of getting a dog.

What do you all recommend ? I got about 6 acres of land. I've had two Dalmatians before when i was very young, but other than that, I don't know much about breeds or anything....

I have a boxer and recently got a black lab puppy, the lab is much more hyper than the boxer ever was but i've had a lab before and she was a great dog when she was a bit older. So I guess I'm partial for those, buy my suggestion would be to go to your animal shelter. They should have a little play area where you can play with different dogs that they have and that's the best way to get a feel for their personality. Good luck.

Yeah. Ive been thinking about maybe a Pit, Boxer, or a BullBoxer....

Im probably gonna head to an animal shelter tomorrow. :grin:

I've had Golden labs and retrievers, they are very loyal and loving and don't bark to much. my fav was a black lab they seem more intelligent... I know that some dogs have more problems later on in life... like Rottweilers have problems with their back legs, other dogs stomachs will turn over a kill them, you really have to find out from a vet what dogs have what problems, that's the real and only pain about have pets...

Black lab!! I had a lab from my 9th birthday until I was 24 and she was a great and wonderful friend to me. :heart: :sun:

Labs are great dogs, but it seems like nowadays everyone and their brother has one, so I would say go for a different breed, maybe a spaniel or a mutt of some sort.

Yeah, definitely go to your animal shelter and pick out one that has a good, loyal personality.

this is the dog I got now, Some sort of spaniel... I got her from a home.
She's really sweet but weird some times I think she was badly treated, which gives her more character!!

i got a yellow lab, he's nearly white, named "Vegas" best dog ever. seriously the pound usually has a great selection of dogs and i'm sure you'll find the best one for you there. thats one luck dog, getting all that room to romp around. give us pictures when u can.

Labs and retreivers are very good pets. Also just plain mutts are usually pretty friendly.
