I have 4 12" by 6" casings of P.cubensis now I have a shit load of pins poping up but they don't seem to want to grow into mushrooms. They've been pinning for like a week and a half and I only have like 4 pins that have become a good size. So I guess what my question is. How can I get my pins to grow bigger faster, how can I know which ones are aborts before they rot, and can aborts still be consumed??? Oh and I'm using perlite humidification. Thanx

I don't know squat, but I do know that you can eat the aborts as long as the tops don't get black before you pick them. And slimy is bad.

Yes the aborts can be eaten . . . and can be extremely potent . . . but all the pinning and no large fruits may mean a lack of nutrients in the substrate or lack of light. btw what substrate did you use? what strain is it? what casing tek did you use?

I used the 50/50 casing tek, and a P.cubesis spore syringe (that's all it said on the package). But it could be the lack of light. I have trouble with getting them the propper amount each day. For I have to keep them hidden. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I could get them adiquate light and still keep them a secret.
Thanx

You should get a light timer.
They aren't too expensive, and you don't have to manually turn the light on and off anymore. You only need to worry about misting and fanning.
hope that helps

Light is needed to get the pins to form in the first place so it sounds like you are OK there. Seeing as you already have a pin set then you want to go into fruiting mode, which means you need to drop the humidity to 85-92% and keep the air exchange going - ie keep fanning. If you are using perlite, your humidity is likely to be very high, which will depress fruiting and promote pin rotting. Try putting some holes in the terrarium lid or just cracking the lid open a bit to reduce humidity. I'd lose the perlite completely - it's so effective at humidifying.
Having said all that, my experiece of casings is limited to two crops - the current one being my second! So someone else may advice better.
