Is cottonweb mold poisonous? would you know it right away or is it one of those 2 weeks to get you type of things.

You do mean 'Cobweb mold' don't you... Cobweb mold isn't poisonous but it can eat mycelium and mushrooms causing them to rot and opening up areas for new contaminations to develop.
