That was fukin stupid man. First off, unless they were A Muscarias, (which they are obviously not) the heat from attempting to smoke a magic mushroom would kill any psychoactive substances (psilocin/Psilocybin)---even if those were psychadelic. However, Im sure heat might activate some toxins on the other hand which might be that rubber leg feeling unless is just placebo. Do some research...you sound fukin desperate

Lol yes, i know how stupid that was, and it was also a placebo.
Well, maybe not cause i did smoke some white russian.
But Can any psycadelic shrooms have a reddish spore print?
I mean i found a big ass shroom today at school.
like the diamater is bigger than a pepsi can.
Also i read that when shrooms are damaged the active ones sometimes turn blue.
Well, this one turns like a very pale pink color.

You are on a dangerous path my friend. Smoking unidentified mushrooms, metol, red spore print???!

The only way to tell if a mushroom is safe or not is to accurately identify it. If you want to find active mushrooms then you need to find out which species are active and search for them. There are no short cuts, there are no easy tests. Forget the metol, which is toxic and gives false positives, and buy field guide; it will serve you better.

Oh, and some blue bruising mushrooms are poisonous.

So, pull your head out of your ass before you end up in the hospital, OK?

I dont know of any psychadelic shrooms that have a red spore print but I generally tell seekers of enthnoegenic mushrooms to stay away from ones that have white to cinnamon/tan colored prints. The purple choclotately-brown or blackish prints are the colors that pschadelic shrooms usually lay. If you are actually interested in knowing what species this shroom you found is, then follow the shroomery identification steps and provide us with a pic. A pepsi can sized shroom with a reddish sporeprint you found at school is too vauge for us to even guess but I would say it is most likely toxic or non-active. When a psychadelic mushroom becomes tossed around, they do bruise blue---that is the oxidation of psilocin and even though it somewhat confirms the species is magic, you usually dont want your shrooms to bruise for this decomposes one of the active ingredients.

Umm, i realize what i did was stupid.
But there is a list of the shroomers that said i should trust them.
Mjshroomer is on that list.
In his guide to finding shrooms, it says that if i put a shroom in metol that is active, the metol will turn blue.
So i think I will give up trying to find shrooms in my area, atleast until i get my car back so i can go to a cow farm or something.
Or san fransisco.
However, i am interested in growing shrooms though.
Can anyone tell me were i can get some spores and the equipment to grow them in here in Cali?

Well metol works sometimes, but does give off some false positives, I wouldn't suggest it ever. And what MJ says is true, your really not going to find anything growing in horse or cow poop in california (its a rarity), unless by chance you find some subbs. Right now the cali season is pretty much over, and only recently have I found one or two remaining cyans in my eucalyptus beds. And liberty caps are also a rarity in california. You need to look up Psilocybe Cyanescens, Psilocybe Cyanofibrillosa, and Panaeolus Subbalteatus. Once you have the ID's down for those you can go looking up Gymnopilus spectabilis, and Gymnopilus aeruginosus. The season in cali is usualy August-January. Good luck, stay safe, dont eat/smoke/chew/drink/inject/make love to/give to a friend, or suggest a friend eat, ANY UNIDENTIFIED MUSHROOMS..............................................

Oh and growing mushrooms is illegal, and spores are illegal in california. And you don't have to worry about flaming cause thats against the forum rules, were trying to be a good community here.

Your best bet is to stay here and study up, people in cali still grow what they want no matter whats illegal (og is proof). The mushrooms I have listen for you to study are all found in the bay area. If your looking for a mushroom to smoke you might want to look for amanita muscaria, for the skin is smokeable (its still best when ingested). Next year you might find something.

Yeah, I thought about it.
And then realised before i started growin my 'plants':), that i didnt know much about weed at all.
So I think i'll hang around here so i can read up on shrooms.
Also, do you know anywere that has pics of shrooms that grow in San Fransisco or the bay area?
I'll be goin' to the Cannabis clubs soon with some of my cousins.
If i learn enough We might hike around Treasure island.
I'm pretty sure there'd be some there.
Anyone know if there are shrooms there?
I'd neccesarily want to smoke shrooms.
I don't know what i was thinking when i smoked that bit.
I think i read that that red shroom with white spots can be found on treasure island.
But i can't find that anymore.
I went ahead n planted some shrooms in my little garden i have on my table.
I think shrooms look cool and like... Mystical.

Well unless your planting mycelium, your just disposing of a rotting shroom into your gardens compost pile, in hope the spores will find a viable substrate to germinate on. Hit or miss.

As far as amanita muscaria (red shroom with white spots ), the seasons also pretty much over, but it can be found pretty much year round, but not in as great of numbers as during their season here in the bay, which is usualy december-feburary.

The mushrooms your going to need to be looking for are going to be found on greyish colored wood chips, preferably hardwoods like alder and eucalyptus.

The best way to go hunting is with 'one' friend, 4 eyes are better than 2, and theres not so many people to split the profits with. And you will also get a second opinion on ID, which can save a life in certain situations.

Remember anything you do find that you think looks like the mushrooms I asked you to look up, bring to us with pictures and proper ID information thats posted in this forums rules and guidelines. We will ensure you a safe and sound visualistic journey.

I also suggest you pick up a book for the bay area, a dorky but well respected mycologist by the name of david arora wrote a book called Mushrooms Demystified, you can find this at most book stores for $39.95. And it will help you ALOT. I highly recommend you grab a book such as this.

Stick around without posting, and just read posts of mushrooms that people find, look at every picture, closely examine every mushroom and their details, and when you see them for yourself you will be able to recognize them easier, but remember to still check in with us for the ID, theres alot of look-alikes for cyans.
