Terrarium Lid

Howdy! In the past I've been using a 10 gal fish tank for my terrarium, but have had problems with the lid. Does anyone have any suggestions for a convenient terrarium lid that is somewhat air-tight? Or, does anyone have a better idea for the terrarium setup in general? Any help is much appreciated!

You can cut out a peice of snug fitting plexi-glass for your lid to the tank. Then just put a thin bead of silocon glue around the lip, place the plexi glass on then peel off when it is set. This should give you a close to air tight seal.

Tupperware containers are great. They have airtight lids and large ones can be purchased for a small price. This also do not allow any light in so can be doubled up as a incubator. Lighting fixtures are also easy to add.

I've seen the normal aquarium lids with the light built in and stuff work just fine......

i covered mine with saran wrap, and put my old lid on, with the light and everythin, and made a whole in the saran wrap for where the top thing will be open. i dont think im gonna get anythin else, cause this doesnt give me a hasle, just open and reach in, pick, close and thats all, no takin the whole fuckin lid off, just opening the aquarium thing.

i use big semitranslucent rubbermaids myself. the seal on the isn't 100 percent, but i havn't had a problem with it. if you are using a humidification apparatus, which i don't, you will be periodicly bringing moist air into the container, so the seal isn't an issue.

try lining the rim of the aquarium w/ self-stick weather stripping from Home Depot, and then top w/ flourescent light defuser. That'll be airtight and should only take about 2 minutes to put together.
