Filter disc on terrarium lid?
    #354318 - 07/13/01 04:12 PM (23 years, 7 months ago)

I was wondering what effect cutting a hole and placeing a full sized filter disc (would cover almost have the top of the lid) on thelid would be? would it spped up pinn/fruit growth? or maybe jsut intoduce contams more easily? or maybe it would have no effect at all?
Any info would be appreciated.

Sounds like a good idea. Supposedly the disks do not allow moisture to escape(altho i may be wrong). Also, they filter out contaminants. So i dont see how you would get more contaminants. Implicating this , if it works, would save you alot of fanning if your terrarium is in a well ventilated area. I don't know if it will increace any kind of growth, but it might eliminate a step. peace

But, if you get contaminants in there, they will be kept in there.

You could always hook up a little pc fan in the terrarium w/ a filter disk over the intake hole to get some good air exchange.

PC fan will not move enough air i tried with the most powerful fan i had (120cubic feet a min it can output) it would barly move any air through the disc.

As for the idea post above about putting it at croping level that makes some sense to me since co2 is heavier it would be more at the bottom than the top.

Thank you everyone that replied
