Smart Cars!
    #3836253 -

I think they are awesome.  I wasn't too sure at first, but upon further research I can say that they rock and I'd definitely consider buying one.  Not now tho, maybe later.

They are so cute!  I saw a plaid one.  Yes...it was plaid.  There was another one with maple leaves all over it...there are some really crazy printed ones.  If you are not facinated with the Smart Cars, you're a liar because you secretly think that they are cute.

Oh yes.

they use like no gas at all. i believe (but am not sure) that they are some sort of electric-hybrid. they are really cheap. you can park anywhere with one. they pollute a hell of a lot less than the average car.

that's whats so smart about them.

(but, realistically, they don't make any sense unless you live in a bigish city)

From a SmartCar website:

Worried about how the Smart will perform in winter? I also drove one a couple of years ago in December. With the engine over the driven wheels, it gets all sorts of traction. The tires - on 15-inch diameter wheels - also can dig through deep snow.

The engine has the "sound of fuel economy" rattle typical of a diesel. But because it's located behind the passenger cabin, you barely hear it once it's warmed up.

The fuel consumption is crazy-good: The combined rating is 3.5 litres per 100 kilometres, or 80 miles per gallon. But the fuel tank is also crazy-small - just 22 litres, with 5 litres reserve. If you get max economy (like most cars, the Transport Canada numbers cannot usually be replicated in the real world) that will only take you 628 km. In reality, you'll probably be filling up every 300-400 kilometres. Still, in typical commute-mode, that might be every two or three days. And I was never able to get more than twelve bucks worth of fuel into the car on any fill-up. You could get used to that!

In the event of an impact, the smart fortwo's steel tridion safety cell, crumple zones and crash boxes, and front and side air bags will protect the driver and passenger.

They are designed for city living. Cheap, economic, cute, great on gas and easy to park.

That is why they are Smart.

they might look cute but they don't drive so good imo

it's more a toy just for shopping or for in a big city where space is limited.
