Eliminating pot odor with bathroom fan

I've read shit on overgrow about home made carbon filters used with blower fans to eliminate odors from growing. I will basically be doing this except on a smaller scale, with a smaller fan. The blower will probably be around 50 cfm, with a smaller container of activated carbon on the end of the duct. Do you think this will work for a small room just for smoking pot, especially if all the smoke is blown directly into the blower?

Hey, I have a related question....
I live in an apartment building in the basement, and I smoke my doobies mostly in the bathroom with the fan on so as not to stink up the whole place.
Where does that sweet stinky smoke go to once it goes through the fan? Directly outside? Upstairs?

I know the fan we have in my upstairs bathroom just vents into the attic. I have no clue where the downstairs one goes to.

I think they are connected to the exhaust ducting that gets rid of dryer air.

I'm almost certain it vent's outside. I know back in the day when I lived with the rents, my Dad figured out I smoked in the bathroom....and he would walk outside to smell and see if I was smoking. Think about it, the fan is put there to get rid of "bathroom smells", it's not gonna send those smells anywhere inside. You can also turn the shower on full heat, the steam kills smell also.

Yeah, I would start up the water and fan, wait til it got steamy and then smoke. This was in the bathroom connected to my parents room and they never smelled it so I guess it worked.

So, um, nobody knows if this would work with pot smoke in a small room?

I used to smoke weed in my bathroom w/ the exhaust fan on and one of those fabric-softener-tube-things. It pretty much kills the smell entirely but if you smoke a bowl then put it out after each hit (don't let the smoke billow out too much). Joints can be smoked but it stinks up the room a lot more.
I don't smoke anymore but it seemed to do the trick! Spray some air-cleaner afterwards (bathroom freshener, ozium, etc)
