Euthanasia?

-several more surgeries
-commencement of Alzheimer's Disease
-amputation of all four limbs
-clinical depression
-temporary colostomy bag

That would've been the rest of my mother's life if euthanasia hadn't intervened. I made arrangements so I personally could make sure her euthanasia would be successful rather then have the staff botch that like they did her "preventive surgery" that brought her this misery.
And I would've gone to jail for it, and to Hell according to some so-called christians, voluntarily.

That's the end of the line. That is euthanasia.
Not a severe depression or losing the will to live, but rather when modern medicine takes you beyond livable life to actively make the suffering end. Euthanasia is legal in Holland in case of last resort, and in my view it should be in every civilized nation.

How can someone be unsuccesful at killing themself? If you really wanna die then you can kill yourself without much trouble. Anyone whos attempted suicide and survived did not want to die bad enough. Take a rope and put it around your neck. Jump off an overpass into oncoming traffic... come on. This is possibly the sickist discussion I've seen on this board.
Don't fuckin kill yourself man.

Wow man, sorry to hear about your girl but (sorry if this hurts your feelings) there's a lot more important things in life... Like you! (believe it or not) just give it time... I know that's really hard trust me, but time mends a broken heart. In the mean time try to keep yourself busy, pick up a new hobby, painting, skateboarding.. something, anything besides killing yourself.

True, but it may also give someone who's mentally staggering the final nudge which otherwise wouldn't have occurred.

Someone said true suicide isn't be botched.
Not so.

A woman I knew and her sister jumped to their death from a roof in a final embrace. Result: she landed on top of her sister, and is now in a wheelchair laden with guilt. Many people who use a gun literally blow half their face off and live. Pills can be ralphed up while unconscious creating a non-lethal crippling poisoning.
People have jumped from airplanes, their parachutes did completely fail without breaking their fall, they smack to the ground and live.

People should think of the tragedy they would leave behind. Because they WOULD be missed. And someone HAS to clean up afterwards.

Suicide, euthanasia and abortion are beastly ugly parts of life. I agree with their existence, but to casually pull ideas from the hat as a conversation piece.. This thread was inspired by *pain* so let us talk about the *pain* the thoughts and facts surrounding suicide rather then the method of it.

I know what you mean Wiccan. It wasn't my intention to advise someone how to kill themselves. I was just talking about the ways of doing it. Which I think is interesting.
If the person is serious about suicide than there are a lot more places on the net where they'll find suicide info.

Nothing is really painless. Trust me, I've seen allot happen. If it's painless it isn't really death, now is it. Or say there is a painless way, how do we really know, the person is dead and really can't tell us if it was or not. But just remember, there's a reason you will die when you do. They say there is a reason for everything don't they?? But say you do take a few pills(hurts like fucking hell, trust me. Your insides feel like they are falling and being shredded out. I puked blood every were, I had chunks of my insides in it. Is that really something you want your loves ones to find?? Or if you don't have any, do you really want a bunch of people that have to come clean up your mess to have to see that. You'd only be disgracing your self, no matter who finds you.) I haven't read every ones ways on how you do it. Nor will I take the time(sorry, when you get your self stable, even for a little while, you can't) But say you shoot your self in the head. Point the tip right in your mouth. When you're laying there, the answers as to how you could have gotten out of your mental pain will seem clear as day.You'll be laying there in pain till you bleed to death, thinking how you really shouldn't have done it.
I'll tell you a little story. When I was a little younger, I had a buddy named Ross. He was gay in the wrong town to be gay in. Before the town found out, he was the golden boy. Captain of the foot ball team. Girls wanted him. He was smart, very good at music. He and I were in a band together in fact.When the town found out? He was treated like shit, beaten, his house vandalized. He got calls at 3 in the morning. People would egg his house.

I decided not to go to a party and stay in SD because i didn't feel up to the drive. That night, a bunch of guys followed him home.Instead he pulled over to the side of the road and asked them what they wanted. They went in the woods and beat him , and then just left him there. He went home and cleaned him self up. Called me and told me to get my butt to Wisc. The next morning, his had found his house had been spray painted. In red , some one wrote the word"fag" He got tired of it, parked a black away till he knew his mom and dad were gone, and then went back home. He pulled out the hand gun his father had giving to him, and wrote his note, turned on a song I'll never be able to listen too again.
His mom went back home and had a feeling something was wrong. She called my cell, and then the cops,She then walked right in the house in time to hear a gun shot. Funny thing is I walked in just behind her( I was already in town, on my way) I held the closest person in my life, in my arms as he said his last words. Then felt his last breath escape his chest. I will never forget that. It hounds my trips. It hunts my dreams. I sometimes think I am the only person in the world that wishes to stop dreaming. I haven't had a good dream in years.I will never forgive my self. For not coming in the first place, for stopping at that gas station ( I would have been there sooner) So yeah, what I am trying to say it. If you do it, think of what you are leaving behind, and if you have a damn good enough reason to do it.And please, don't think killing your self is the easy way out. There are few good reasons in this world to do it, and if you think you have a good reason, im or pm me. I'm willing to talk to you. Just to be an ear.

Well, the question of suicide is subjective. My own belief is that everyone has their own right to commit suicide; it's their life. But I also think that pretty much everyone can solve their problems and do not have to resort to suicide. With myself though, my problems are virtually unsolvable. I've been so close to actually going through with committing suicide for nearly five years now as I said before. I think about it everyday. And I really have no idea how much longer I'll go for, but I have tried so hard to continue and I will continue doing so for as long as I can. I don't want to hear how I could solve my problems from anyone, because they don't know what I've been through and what I am suffering from. And I have tried everything possible to help myself with no success. With my own case, I don't even know how I got this far, and I think anyone in my own position would have killed themselves a long time ago. Anyway, I'm just letting you guys in a bit so you know what's going on.

I really think that basically everyone does not need to resort to suicide though. I am a freak accident or something.. I am something very, very rare that cannot be fixed.

So what has stopped you from suicide then? You've been thinking about it for 5 years now.... why are you still going? There must be some bit of hope left in you. If you can man just feed that hope that you have.
I dunno, I have no answers. You're right, none of us know what you've been through, maybe sharing would help?
