Dropping toast
    #3822691 - 02/23/05 04:24 PM (11 years, 9 months ago)

There must be some law of physics that states, if you drop a piece of toast on the floor, it will always land butter/jelly side down. It really sucks

That being said, if I were to strap a piece of toast to a cat's back (seeing as cats always land on their feet), and drop it, the laws of physics wouldnt allow it to hit the ground, causing it to float in mid air. I just need a cat to try this experiment.  :blazed:

haha. I hate how food always manages to land on the side that is worse for it to land on. But it's probably because it is heavier on the top because of the toppings (butter in this case) but like with pizza and cheese and shit. So the heavy part goes down first.

But with the toast strapped to a cat, but theory, if they had equal power's or whatever they would land on their side's I THINK. I'm not very good at figuring out scientific shit (not that this is all scientific) but That's what I think if that situation were real. I got 5 bucks on the cat landing though if I had to bet. Or why not just spread butter on the cat's back?

brandzer, you need to keep murphy's law in mind. by applying it you will see that it changes the outcome of the situation based on your intentions. for example, if you are just about to enjoy a delicious piece of jelly toast and drop it, it will, in fact, land jelly side down. however, if by simply being full and not wishing to eat anymore, murphy's law will in fact alter the laws of gravity and cause the toast to land bread side up.

this is formally known as the "shit happens just to piss you off" principle.

i honestly don't know what happens if you are eating a cat and you drop it, or whatever. i'll have to look into it.

it wouldnt work the same without the bread. You cant just butter up a cat and expect it to substitute, thats just bad science

sorry, my fault.

i have noticed that the few times that I dropped food that I wasn't planning on eating, it, from what I can remember, has always landed the good way. Which does tick you off.

bread side up and jelly side down are the same thing.

Besides, the intentions of the holder of the toast matter not. Even if you're not hungry, droppin a well prepared piece of toast will always result in the crappiest possible consequence. I mean, someone else may have wanted it

i noticed that too but just left it alone.

For me, the experience has been different, my personal desire of wanting to eat it or not seems to affect it.

bullhonkery! if you butter a cat and intend to eat it, it will most certainly land butter side down. murphy's law overcomes all other scientific laws, even thermodynamics and physics. now, if you butter the cat but have some sort of sissy girl moral qualms about eating it, it will certainly land on it's feet.

god, this is all just common sense.

All of you are wrong! if you place a peice of jammy toast on a cats back with the intention to eat it, it will slide off and land jelly down, and the cat will land on its feet. simple as that
