we can only pick one of these two? screw that. I pick the Beach Boys. No beatles album can compare to Pet Sounds, not even the ones that were influenced by it!

I'm just being difficult. I actually think they are alright, I like alot of Jims writing and stuff but I don't care for the Doors sound for the most part, there's no deep end what so ever, I just can't dig into it very much.

beatles for me as well. maybe beatles vs grateful dead, or beatles vs pink floyd would be more competitive here

Musically the beatles blow out any band i can think of overall musically. There is no way to describe how much i wish my life was something liek George Harrison's, and be able to share my music that acts as a drug to my body... Really, tell me, how many of you got infatuated with a Gameboy Zelda game song and listened to it for an hour, over and over again, just because of the 135 to 157 chord progression? Probably not many, which is why even my best friends have no idea about me and my love of music.

I would certainly not say that the beatles are the best ever musically, though they are an amazing band. If you dig the Zelda theme, which I couldnt see how anyone could'nt then you should check out Yngwie Malmsteens version of it. Spectacular!
I voted beatles. the doors are groovy, but they only had so much.

they werent the best ever musically, youre right, but they have a lot more substance then the doors.
the beatles arrived like a boyband of the ages screaming girls to love songs and such they went to india enlightenment bound came back with a whole new musical touch flicker flash like a funeral pyre, the doors came and rose like the sun! better to burn out then to fade away though jim got drunk and the alcohol won.

although my heart does not get moved by the beatles, I have to vote for them. They had a larger musical influence, on a larger audience.
