I just like newmarks because they're really simple.
Numark faders have the lifespan of a retarded fly... but they're great for fucking with sound I love the way their kill switches work. I'll have completely different settings with the bass/mid/treble from beat to beat... numarks make it really easy to do that shit... sometimes I feel like I'm playing the keyboard when I'm messing with the mixer

My husband spins, does that count? He spins DnB. He's got MK2's, a Pioneer 600, and a Numark SM2.

Anyone tried djing ala Ableton Live around here?
I've found it to be an awesome live perfourmance tool for real time re-edits and other quite abnormal manipulations.
Granted it subtracts the turntable element and all the scratching/cutting aspects its revered for, but more time can be spent in the mixing/effect/re-editing, not to mention the ability to run your own music and vsti's and AU's.

Any of you ever heard of tinnitus?
Well i shure hope you haven't, but just to protect you guys.......Tinnitus is the perception of noise in the absence of an acoustic stimulus. It can occur as a pure tone or multiple tones and can be high pitched, low pitched, ringing, buzzing, roaring, clicking, hissing, rough, pulsatile, or steady. Because it is a symptom and not a disease, its treatment varies and is often unsuccessful.
I started to notice this "monitor" type of sound in the background a few months ago, i 've been to hundreds of raves and been djing alot, but if you wear hearing protection (custom ear plugs that is, specially desighned to fit in your ear shape and cut off the volume equally at all frequencies without muffing the sound like the ones bought from a pharmacie) you can save your ears.
