I graduated from High School WAAAAAYY back in 1985.

Now Im thinking about going to school to learn about computers.

Any Ideas on WHITCH area of computers I should get into?

alot of computer jobs are being outsourced. unless you learn about the electrical technology behind them. you could engineer them.

The IT world is a scary place for American workers right now. Most of the jobs are being sent to India. There are cases of experienced IT workers being forced to train their foreign replacements. Be careful if you want to enter the IT world. How will you be able to compete against someone who will work for 1/10 to 1/2 of what you will work for?

I had been told about the IT outsourcing but wasnt sure how bad it was. I have got to get out of these damnd factories, and I have to have an education to do that.

Im just not sure what I should go to shcool for. I have thought about journalism or maybe photography.

Anything you do in computers is going to take considerable education. You can't just get a certification and get a job in the IT market. You'll need a masters of Ph.D in computer science to get above the grunt work being outsourced. Or an engineering degree.

I'd go into something else. Go into medicine maybe? Almost 100% chance of getting a job somewhere, with good pay and a worthy cause.

I have thought about the medical field but it dosent interest me very much.
