Windows is the OS, but assuming you didn't download an additional browser, it would be internet explorer. Then the question would be what version of windows and what version of explorer are you using.

You should go ahead and use this as your opportunity to switch to firefox and stay IE free from now on.

if you're downloading stuff the preview stops working during the download

Yep I just figured that out. My antivirus software was downloading updates at the time it wasn't working.
