No flashing envelope.

It can get pretty annoying, would probably take 2 seconds to change it into a stationary envelope.

No leave it flashing. You can make it disappear by reading them.

i dont mind the flashing, but i wish the envelope would appear as soon as you get a message, instead of when you change screen also i think it would be better if it opens a new window, so you can go about your business, while reading the pm

I agree. I like the flashing envelope. However, I am concerned about the liability issues for the owners. I mean, it could cause seizures in someone who is photo-epileptic -- like those Japanese cartoons a few years back...

It's fine, I just don't like opening a bunch of posts to find the annoying flashing in each one, and having to reload the forum, losing the post count, to get rid of it after I've read it.

Hey cool, it seems as if your suggestion to have PM's open in a new window has gone through! I like it!

Cool! That's a good idea. I'll have to try it. I've always been choosing to open that in new window anyway, so it will be nice not to have to go through the extra effort...

Why this burning compulsion to get rid of it? If you scroll down you can't see it. IIRC as soon as you change screens (ie open a post) after reading you PMs it's gone. Is it really THAT annoying? Of course, it might trigger seizures in some people.

What burning compulsion?
Are you referring to your secret rash?

Well I guess it isn't much of a secret any more, is it?
