my buddys official charges are a qp of weed and 19 lbs of mushies....

Actually, those are illegal narcotics. He is in jail because he had massive amounts of illegal drugs. Let's not be naive here, while he has hurt no one since when are crimes limited only to those which cause harm among the populace? He is in jail, and will probably be in there for a while. It sucks. It happens. He knew the risks involved when he decided to keep a quarter pound of weed and 19 FUCKING POUNDS OF MUSHROOMS.
I will keep him in my thoughts, and while I do not pray, I do wish him the best of luck in all of his endeavors.

I understand, but it comes with the territory. I am sure he did a great job supplying people with mind-expanding drugs while he was in business, and that is awesome. Play the game long enough, and you will inevitably lose. =/

exactly...i said be becareful....but he lived the life of luxury for awhile....maybe too much.... but it hurts to see a friend face that
his house got raided....
someone ratted....and hes suppliers went down also......fuck the man....no one was hurt

Yea, I always imagine setting up a large scale grow-op and then selling multiple lbs. to close people for them to distribute then put the money in a savings account and close up shop. However.....things like that don't seem to go the way you want them to. Some get lucky, some get fucked in the ass....not worth it.

This guy was disobeying an unjust law. People like him are the reason people like us get to enjoy illegal drugs. He's on the front line of the WOD. Of couse he knew the risk he was taking, but it's only right to show him some respect for his effort.

I know....the civil rights movement in 60s was breaking laws...but as they said, some laws need breaking. I look up to people like MLK jr. Rosa Parks and rest a great deal, they were great people, and they give me hope that we may win this battle. Yesterdays criminals and outlaws are todays heros...

I understand, and I already expressed my delight that he was supplier. I said it was awesome, which in my mind expresses my appreciation for his sacrifice. I also think it is naive to pretend like the status quo is an effective forum for change and to be angry at a set of unjust laws which have existed and will continue to exist. We all know the risks we take when we disperse and use drugs, if someone gets pinched while doing their duty, it sucks, but it is not unexpected.
It will do no good to sit around and wallow in our philosophical sophistry about whether or not the law is just. Take it for what it is. It sucks. It is here to stay.
I am not trying to be callous, and I am sorry if I come across as such - I just think that this happens more than most of us know and after seeing 4 close friends go to jail for 10+ years I have just developed a thick skin. I apologize.

iam in Oklahoma and here its all about money if u got it u get off i got a 5 years of probation for 3 trafficking and two with in tent and a gun. cost me 12.000 for a lawyer and 7.000 in fines and 90 a month to the probation officer for 5 years and 1000 hours of community service

thats why i never keep a large stash on hand. sucks for your buddy. hope everything works out ok. the risks of making fast cash though. i got offered to deal copious amounts of coke, but i turned it down. even though i woulda got it barely above cost.

Dark Star: I remember seeing a clip of Ronald Reagan talking about drugs and saying that it's not up to people to "decide which laws we want to obey". I would love to have publicly asked him if he thought it was wrong that Harriet Tubman freed slaves via the Underground Railroad. How about the fact that medical science started out being illegal. People had to steal corpses in order to learn how the body worked.

Sounds like York,Pa.?/  I did 15 months county time in Pa. for possession,distribution of 1/2 lb meth...{we called it Crank  }...Only cost me 10 grand cash in 1982.  He HAS to get in a program before court!!! He will do time.I don't know what state {or country, fellow Earthlings  } you hail from, but hopefully the  weight will dehydrate to less than a kilo.....or will ROT in an evidence locker before due process is served.Ya'll spell that werd different  He's in my prayers, please make sure that he gets visits....Seriously, what state?

#1 He needs to keep his mouth shut. He should not talk to ANYBODY except his lawyer. That includes cops, fellow inmates, family members, etc...
#2 Get a real lawyer...not a public defender. If he gets a public defender he will go away for years. If he gets a private lawyer, he might get probation(he will probably do time though).
#3 Start bulking up. He might have to do some time. He needs to be able to defend himself.
