vicks ultrasonic filter

I recently got a ultrasonic off of ebay that was slightly used... Should I attempt to dissenfect the filter in the humidifier? If so, would bleech work well?

Replace the filter.

I bought a new one for a 23 year old Bionaire a few months ago ($24 w/shipping), so you should have no problem finding a new filter for just about any ultrasonic.

They contain activated charcoal and they're nearly impossible to clean without destroying them.
