Sporesdirect contam?

I just bought a 5 pack with 2 extra syringes from sporesdirect.com 3 weeks ago,  I  injected my jars 12, Monday jan 31st.  I did 10 1/2p jars with GT from sporesdirect.com and  1 jar with Cyan and 1 jar with Trop, not from sporesdirect.com, because i thought my mycelium was dead, so I wanted to see for sure if it was(honey tek over  1.5 months old).  I used all the same ingredients BRF, Manure, verm, for all the jars I pressure cooked all same everything was same, temp everything I also Flamed the needle in between every injection so i didn't transfer anything.  well all My GT have greenish/grey bacteria growth growing along with the mycelium.  My trop and cyan to my surprise grew, with no bacteria growth.  Now I figure it was the syringe but my question is because this was a huge waist of money and time should i try with those other syringes b/c another loss like that and i will most likely go into a bottomless depression for a week. :frown: :frown: :frown: :frown:


Follow-up I could have still done something wrong, this is a highly variable science. ALSO sporesdirect did replace that syringe awesome sponsor!

Kinda hard to tell where the contam came from but if it is growing at the spots where you injected then it probably was the syringe. I've used SD many times with zero problems

ya i just double checked to make sure and the contam spots were exactly beneath the injection sites so im 100% sure it was the syringe but i should i use the rest of my syringes?

I would still use them. the chances of the rest of them being contamed are very low IMO

My suggestion is if you have been getting contam for it, just dont use the syringe unless you want more contam. You could also try to steralize it "heat the end with a lighter" and try it again. Hope this helped. GOOD LUCK! :thumbup:
