HELP! Caps opening on tiny shroomies

I am in the middle of my first flush and my mushrooms seem to be maturing early. I have tiny little mushrooms (<1cm) with caps completely open, lots of them. Some are growing to more than 3 cm before opening, but a lot are still tiny and I don't know if this is just a small type of Cubie. They are grown from Mazatec spores from PF. Also, a lot of them are turning upside down. I think the casing might be a little dry because they have spindly little stems. I tried a few(5) that opened way earlier than the others last night and they were very firm with very little water in them(fresh). Another thing, after picking the mature ones last night, the others seemed to have slowed their growth today. Is the mycellial network trying to repair the spots of harvest? I have several other casings that are currently pinning and I am wondering if they are all gonna produce baby little mushies too. Is there a way to make them grow bigger without water logging them? Since they are from different jars, will they have different growing characteristics(different pore germ match(I think thats what its called))? Somebody please tell me I didn't fuck something up big time.

no expert but mushrooms will grow biggest and fastest at higher temps and higher humidty levels than what is needed for pinning.
Try rising the temp to 80+

The Maz's are typically small, just not as small as you've reported. Increasing substrate depth will produce bigger shrooms. (for next time) Now, you say the casing seems dry, that might be the problem. Did you bother with daily mistings?

Did you give lots of air exchange cuz this could be the reason for the stunted growth. Also, you want the humidity about 85%. The humidity needed for pinning..usually around 95% is too high for fruiting. Thsi will cause abhorts.
Also, when the biggest ones are ready, the smaller ones are too. They don't grow mush more once the largest ones are mature.
You may have just gottne some slightly mutated spores. Your Mazatapec fruits on brown rice cakes should look like this:

I am using a little direct and mostly indirect sunlight all day long and I put them under a night light while I sleep. I misted them daily and fanned them 3-5 times a day. I kept reading that casings that were too wet invite contam., so I might have made the casing for this one too dry. Also, the casing I'm asking about is in a Tupperware bin 8"w 12"L 7"d. I used one cake for that. The substrate seemed a little thin when I was casing it, so that might be the problem. I have other cakes cased in containers half that size now so the substrate layer will be about twice as thick, these are in the middle of pinning right now. My shrooms do look like those in the pic, but just smaller and thinner. I have one mushroom that compares to those in size, but its still thinner in the stem. Its cap is totally torn away and wide open, but I have lots of others that are still babies, not even close to mature. I know I should try to harvest them all at once, but I don't want them dropping spores all over the place. What to do?!?! One more thing, anybody have any type of comments on the Sea of Shrooms tek? I have one cake cased in two different cups. They have started growing baby mushrooms that look like they'll be bigger than my other ones in the thin casing, but they are growing very slowly. Thank you everyone for you input.

There's your answer, for an 8 X 12, I reccomend no less than 5, 1/2 pint cakes. Also, keep them out of direct sunlight. Direct sun on a terrarium can bake your babies, kinda like leaving a toddler in a car with the windows rolled up.

You know Ive noticed that the shrooms grow the most during the evening when I cover the light openings. I always look forward to looking into my grow chambers in the morning when i wake up to see what happened while I slept. When I noticed this I actually decreased the amount of light entering my grow chamber. Now after the sun goes down I cover them up rather than allowing a few extra hours of incandescent light. Is there anything to this or am I just imagining this shit?....lol

Ive read somewhere that exposing the shrooms to the MINIMUM amount of light, and only indirect light, will actually make for bigger shrooms, because the shrooms are "reaching" out to the weak light. I don't know if this is true, since the shrooms don't actually need the light, they just figure out which way to grow from it. Anyone know what I'm talking about?

The correct amount of light is over-emphasized, as is your sleeping patterns.

ive noticed exactly the same - i only give them indirect sunlight for about 6 hours a day, then close the curtains and leave them in the dark - i always get growth spurts after the sun goes down
