My First grow/ 4th day

Will have pictures soon , its going on 4th day after inoculation.My myc growth is almsot nothing , it looks like my cake is kinda dry. I used the right amount of water so i dont think they are. Also at the end of using the exact amount ingredients for 3 jars i had enough ingredients left over to make another jar and a half. Is that a good thing?

I end up with extra too. I just make up 8/9 -cant remember- worth of BRF/VERM theres always enuff left over to make one/two more.


Maybe cause of the dry verm layer is taking up the 20/30ml per half pint. Thats why you have left over substrate.

Well, if you did infact use the exact ammount of ingredients to make 3 jars and you had that much left over then it means you left the substrate very loose in the jars which is definately a good thing for fast colonization.

Seeing any myc at all on the 4th day is a good sign. It can sometimes take a week or even longer in extreme cases before the first sign of myc.

Jar's can often look too dry until about 50% colonization then it may seem if they are actually getting wetter. If this happens, then by about 85% colonization you'll be freaking out and thinking they are too wet. Just don't sweat it, they'll be fine. Basically during colonization there's nothing you can/should do except just let them go and be patient.

"Sublimistri on what temperature do you keep your jars?" - Beats the hell outta me , like i said in my incubater thread , all i do is have them in my soon to be fruiting chamber(Just added them in there before they were in the open under my bed with the heater) with a room heater on them.

Its actually about 1.3 left over , but like beetle said , they are loosely packed , and i measured precisely. Also i forgot to mention that its creeper strain.

This is my first grow attempt. Yesterday i inoculated my jars( 6 of them). Now i keep them in a box on a temperature of 75 degrees. But I don't know if I should keep them dark?

Dunno ,  but here is pics of 3 of my jars that have small signs of white fuzz where i inoculated them (Im pretty sure its myc). But one jar has a little bit that is visible.

SpaceVox, you optimally want your jars at about 84-86 degrees Farenheit and if you are using a light as your heating source, cover the jars with a thick, dark towel or something to keep the light from getting through.

It will cause them to start pinning before the cake is 100% colonized. You don't want that !
