NIN - The Fragile

Ok I am pissed that out of all the crazy songs on this album they released the one track that really fucking sucks. "Starfuckers". That's the song I heard on the radio years ago and made me decide NiN was a waste of time.

Friend of mine just burned me the Fragile and I love it. Very dark and atmospheric but with alot of great industrial punchy rhythms and sweet yet twisted melodies throughout. Great with headphones. There isn't an overabundance of singing either. The music really holds it together alone. I would almost like to hear the album without lyrics, actually.

I totally recomend it to anyone into that weird dark twisted nerdy sound.

Yeah, it's awesome. This was the album that got me into NIN.

I got The Downward Spiral too, but I owned it for like 6 months before it fully clicked with me. You have to have it up really loud on headphones. It needs to be drilled into your skull for you to understand it.

you should get the live DVD. I've been watching it alot lately. Incredibly badass. The lighting at their shows is amazing, just like Trent's music.

I like starfuckers better live on "and all that could have been" then on the fragile.

Yeah, me too. It really is TR's symphony...there's reoccuring themes and motifs, developments .... I love just the concept of Left and Right, rather than 1 and 2...I still can't imagine either one being supposed to go first.

Great fucking album. Way underrated by the TR fans because it wasn't all loud industrial stuff. MUCH more musically advanced.

Starfuckers, Inc was leaked on the internet some months before the official release of The Fragile, this may be part of the reason it was chosen as a single. It was already out there, so why not push it.

Starfuckers came to me in the mail with the first 3 track Fragile tease CD which was the day the world went away, I think. That was quite a few months before the Fragile came out. I think overall the song sucks and hardly fits in on the album.

The beauty of the Fragile is actually the layering of sounds, I think. Trent Reznor can't sing...he really should get some of his studio cronies to re-do the album with 80% less singing.
