jim morrison was a brilliant songwriter.

I like most doors songs, but the organ turns me off to them

The Doors are ok by me every once and a while. If I hear them to often I really start to hate the music. I don't think I could ever get tired of hearing Jimi though.

It's like most any other kind of music, you know? I just have to be in the mood for it.

I'm suprised SuperTramp didn't get a single vote. I thought it would be a pretty close poll. I was pretty wrong...

What a list

I picked Queen, cause they always be rockin.

Jimi is more of the soul playa, Neil more of the love-jammer, and the Doors being completely outta this world, and into mine

Good poll

A plethora of music aspirations control my temptations of future revelations beyond "now". The percussion, and the heart beat of my love and devotion. The rhythm goes beyond, prying into the third eye, releasing the creativity held so far inside. The melodicies, through the out of tune pianos and broken classical guitars...there lies a beauty. A beauty as prevelent as the fire inside. To release these energies is pure ecstacy, to deveop these gifts is sacred. The vocality, so pure as can be, shying away from herself, lies within me. For the underlying serenitity, this is what I live for. I plea for harmony, and nothing more. Music equals love. Creation of love leads to the procreativity of the World, and it's spirals and puddles prevailing.

That was tough between the doors, hendrix, and young. At least for me it was. They all have their place in my heart.

Pathos said:
hendrix will always be my favorite. There were other equally skilled guitarists (like 2), but none could convey emotions like he could through it. I can listen to his songs and feel what he felt (or my interpretation of it) when he wrote it, without him speaking a word.

He also writes amazing lyrics and sings with more soul than any other vocalist.

Hendrix is the best

Ever hear Stevie Ray Vaughn play "Voodoo Child"?

I thought exactly like you did on the subject until I saw Stevie Ray Vaughn play that song. It was then That I realized that Hedrix indeed had an EQUAL!

I like some of jimis stuff but to be honest the guy rubs me the wrong way and when it comes to guitar playing he was original but rather sloppy and not to my taste

i chose the doors of perception

yea I heard Stevie rays version, pretty good. But voodoo child wasnt really one of my favorite hendrix songs to begin with, plus Id have to give more credit to jimi for writing it

Listen to the Muddy Waters original song Mannish Boy

then play Hendrix's Mannish Boy version

that will give you an idea of how incredible jimi was

I used to have live bootlegs of Jimi and he was definitely the greatest, except he had conflict with the Band of Gypsys. I still think Cherry Bomb is better than Jimi though.
