Stinky dessicant chamber?

My grilfriend's monkey's uncle fan dried for 24 hours and put into dessicant (CACL) chamber. This morning after they were in there for about 15 hours he opened the chamber to check the progress. They seem about as dry as when they went in. He also noted a horrible odor wafting up from the chamber. he inspected the fruits and did not see any visible signs of rotting. They looked about the same as when they were put in. Has anyone else noticed a stench when opening their chamber? Is it normal? The container is airtight, about the size of a round birthday cake, tupperware thing. Dessicant off the bottom on a wire mesh spread out on a clean dishcloth. Wire mesh above this supports the fruits. about an inch separation from the CACL. Thanks in advance for your replies!

put it in the oven for 1 hour at 400 f,may be just needs to be redryed out,after 15 hours should be some what dryer than you put it in .but what i do is split the shrooms in half down the middle put on a plate and put a fan on them for the night then next morning put in desicate chamber next morning they are done snap when you bend them.but this is just what works for me ,then in jell caps they go .
