even flushes

i was just told that you should cover up the mycelium that pops up early to promote an even flush. it is day two since i cased and there is about three 1cm in diameter mycelium clumps. these pices of mycelium are realy rizmorphic and the rizo's are going up. i thought those might be premature pinheads. if they arent should i still put some verm on top even because those three pieces of mycelium that poped up early. if they are then what? i dont think the are since they look nothing like pinheads, just strands of rizmorphic mycelium.
