Any fans? She left no doubt to venture off on her own. I bought her album recently. It's awesome!! Has anyone heard it? This may not be the type of music most here would listen to. I'm a girl who listens to EVERYTHING! I was just wondering how others thought about it, IF there are other's here who've listened to her new stuff. So? What do you think?

She's really cute and has a good voice....but that's it. Nothing original in my opinion.

I've also been rocking out to the new Gwen Stefani CD, which is pretty neat. It's cool that she can get out there and do her own thing. I would really like to see No Doubt put out another album together. Gwen totally pwns her own shit, but I gotta keep my loyalties to the whole band, you know? The boys add a whole different element to the groove. Long Beach old skool mofos. Tony Kanal helped write alot of Gwens new songs, and he produced like 4 or 5 of the tracks on the new CD, I think that is so wickid. They are best friends, business partners, band mates, family. No Doubt needs each other. They haven't known anything different for 20 years.
I also managed to aquire "In Time It Will Come" Which is all the unrealeased, B-sides and remixes from everything that the band did together in the 90's. I think I like it a little bit better then Gwens solo CD.
Next CD: The Beacon Street Collection: 1995.
There are two kinds of music. There's the kind that rocks RIGHT NOW. It's catchy and cute and it gets stuck in your head. Then theres the kind that you can totally, timelessly relate to. Brings you back to a time in your life when it seemed like evaryting wuz gonna be arrrite, or it makes you sing out loud at the top of your lungs. You know what I mean, cuz music...it's the glue that holds us all together....man.
I love No Doubt. Sublime too, but that is for a different thread.

As much as No Doubt resisted this at first, it was always obvious that she was the band, and the reason why they were popular.
Rock Steady, IMO, was the most blatant example of a band selling out, making music to sell the most albums possible.
But that said, I too think she's hot and has a beautiful voice. Like said above, nothing original, imo.

That isn't quite what I was trying to say. Gwen needed to get out on her to see what she was capable of. She defintely wasn't the driving force behind No Doubt.
They all need each other to rock out properly. She plays a hugenormous role in it, but she needs her band and thier input. Without them, she's just another product of the music industry.
I hope they do another old skool album together.

Sorry, I wasn't trying to refer to what you said. I meant as far as image and style of the band--and the reason why they got popular...They had a video where she was doing the photoshoot and whatnot and the rest of the band got pissed because she got all the attention.
I'm saying, as much as they try to claim that's not how it is, I think she's always been the front of the band, and the main reason for their popularity.
But, this is an outsider's view. I probably don't have as much relevance as you do, since I've never owned a No Doubt CD.

No way!~
Anything under 36 C is boyish.
You get your hands on some 38 GG's and you'll never go back to itty bitty titties.
