Travelled with them for 3 1/2 mos. when I was 15. Got thrown out for that one. Can't remember if I made it in to some of the shows. Used to wake up in the damnest of places, never remembered names. "Yeah, but hey man, did you see them LAST night?"

i dont get how people have the time and money to follow a band for that long. Hell, i barely have time to go to a concert around here, nevermind following them.

I love the dead, but never seen them live. they make good music, but they arent my favorites. Im more of a Devin Townsend fan.

I listened to a few of their songs the other day, unfortunately I didnt take to them. The songs just seemed too 'country' for me.

Ah, I never really was a huge fan of the Grateful Dead UNTIL I went to my first Dead show. Then it all seemed to kick in and all the pieces fell into the place.

Now I can't go a day without listening to this band.

I've never been a fan of the dead...perhaps it's because I've never seen them live, but to me their music is too unorganized with no real flow or rythm to it.  I'm sure that comment alone is going to cause a few of you to cry yourselves to sleep tonight.
I have tried to like them...I really have, but if I had to use two words to describe their music, it would rhyme with "hay truck".

that's a great album, and also what got me into them big time.
rono - i will be crying myself to sleep tonight :crying: .......really though, they do have rhythm, if nothing else. hart and kreutzman are a couple very talented and solid drummers, if the dead's music lacks anything it is definitely not rhythm  it took me a while to get into them, i know where you're coming from. i used to feel the same way.

Don't consider myself a big fan here, but I appreciate them. I went to a few shows in the ealy 90's. Was glad I got to see Jerry before he died. But I don't listen to them on a regular basis.

I have followed them (The Grateful Dead, not The Dead)for 2 tours and love them very much. I first listened to 'two from the vault' in '91 and Eyes of the World and Help>Slipknot>Franklin's Tower turned me on to them. It's been a love affair ever since.
