I have lots of condensation of the lid of my PMP..I did the vaseline trick and it only make the drops smaller and more spread out...before they were less but bigger... any thoughts on how to elimenate this...I have a massive 9500 air pump...its turned up pretty high to get frequent air changed.

Not if the water droplets are landing and settling on your cakes and shrooms though. Sorry, I can't help ya, Alan. I haven't had this problem yet. I'm sure someone has and can offer you some advice.

Water dripping on your casing isnt good either. Its only a problem if its dripping on things though...with vasoline on there the drops shouldnt be able to build up enough to start dripping. You can make a drip shield..just a piece of plastic or some such in at a 45 degree angle. Takes up alot of space though and shouldnt be needed unless your noticing the lid dripping onto your cakes/casings.

You probably didnt have large drips. I have had drips cause problems on my casings...it takes actual drops though..I'm not talking misting. They can puddle up and among sealing and overlay can cause contamination as well. However with a vasolined lid the drops shouldnt become big enough to pose this problem.

How are your inside and out temps? I have a feeling you have a bright light shining on the lid or vise versa somehow. At any rate if there is a difference in temps, maybe you can regulate them to keep condensation down. Also, could your pump be kickin' too much?

I noticed a descrease in overall drop size when making holes in my lid as Magash suggests. Humidty stays at 92-97 percent as well. Might wanna give it a try. I have a 2 1 inch holes atm

Yes, allowing air to escape, also aiding in transfer. In this case it may allow him to keep that pump wide open for max. exchange. 5 4 u bro...

i just made a pmp and i had the same concern... here's what i did: http://home.planet.nl/~vertigo69/grow/P7040013s.jpg http://home.planet.nl/~vertigo69/grow/P7040011s.jpg http://home.planet.nl/~vertigo69/grow/P7040014s.jpg http://home.planet.nl/~vertigo69/grow/P7040010s.jpg its pretty simple really... condensation forms when a surface is colder then the air that comes in contact with it. condensation seeks out the coldest surfaces in your box and the towel makes sure that the top aint it... also having the heater in the middle helps allot too...

Cakes and casing love direct water. Drops of water will add to the moisture

no it wont drops are just concentrations of moisture that was already there... having them only means that the outside is colder then the inside of the pod... the slightest bit of moisture can produce condensation...

not if the drops land on little pins/knots. that can cause damage to their fragile little bodies. not cool.
